body shop hemp cream is great and good value

KurriKurri · 28/01/2010 22:50

If you want to treat yourself this is really nice.

tulpe · 28/01/2010 22:51

L'Occitane Lavender hand cream is gorgeous

pipsqueak · 28/01/2010 22:52

Prosecco · 28/01/2010 22:53

Neutrogena every time. It works miracles

KurriKurri · 28/01/2010 22:55

this is good too for everyday usage. Very gentle if your hands are sensitive. I sympathise, if I didn't cover them with cream, my hands would be very lizardy.

LilRedWG · 28/01/2010 22:55

I have hands like yours. DH has just bought me some Burt's Bees hand cream nad I'm hoping that will help.

bosch · 28/01/2010 22:56

Have a million different handcreams which I don't use as often as I should. Best for me is Boots expert concentrated hand and nail cream. Is dead cheap and v good.

Also, have you tried any of the hand scrubs? I have one on the go atm - The Body (Elle Macpherson) Nourishing Hand Scrub - you wash your hands with it and it gets rid of dry bits and moisturises at the same time.

L'occitane She Butter hand cream is fab- not greasy at all, you don't need much and it smells gorgeous. Rather pricey though.

MIL swears by Burt's Bees Almond stuff for her gardener's hands

Wickle lavender hand wash is excellent x

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 28/01/2010 23:06

I've tried bodyshop hemp cream, L'Occitane shea butter, Boots, Vaseline Intensive Care, and countless others, plus I've just received one I ordered called Sharkie's Beeswax Hand and Heal Cream ffs!

The only one that's ever worked has been Neutrogena - and normal Vaseline under gloves.

Read somewhere that wearing disposable plastic gloves at night helps it to soak in more. Might try tonight.

Atrixo is good as well, and relatively cheap

CMOTdibbler · 29/01/2010 10:43

If you need an intensive boost, then there is nothing better imo, than plain aqueous cream plastered on under cotton gloves (boots first aid section have them). For best results, soak your hands in warm water first, with a little emollient bath stuff, then really slap on the cream (don't dry your hands) so that there is a super thick layer. Get someone to help you put the gloves on over the top, and leave on all night.

They will be soft and lovely in the morning

I use Lush Handy Gurugu or Helping Hands. Both last ages and have no mineral oil either.

Failing that the L'Occitane Shea butter one is great too
