Not a huge amount cheaper, but still a saving, I love my celts

LadyOfTheFlowers · 27/01/2010 20:44

I just recently got a nice pair of Skechers ones.
They are very good quality and are standing up to the weather, iclusing the recent snow and rain - with a bit of rain repellent spray they flogged me, very well, not a mark on them.

I saw a friend up the school last week with huge salt watermarks acros her brand new Uggs, my heart bled for her! lol

bluebump · 27/01/2010 20:46

I have these which I bought from ebay (new), they are really comfy and the soles are good, not at all slippy like a lot of the cheaper style uggs that I have bought before.

miche8 · 27/01/2010 20:47

The ones from next are very good, the heels don't sag like most cheapy ones, think i paid £30 and i've lived in them this pregnancy....thinking about getting the tan ones, i have the black. Would like a real pair but wonder how much better they really are as they cost so much. I will say theres no grip so don't wear them in the ice.

bluebump · 27/01/2010 20:47

Oh and I have salt watermarks all over mine too, DP reckons he can sort them but i'd certainly have cried if they were real uggs even if I was daft enough to wear them in the snow!

feedthegoat · 27/01/2010 20:52

I've just got these skechers boots. They are lovely and warm. I've also given them a good blast of suede protector and they still look good despite the recent rain.

Freyfreysmum · 28/01/2010 08:29

Thats great thanks ladies will take a look. Got some Uggs several years ago for Xmas and by the summer the heels had collapsed, toe had worn away, and I had slid around most of Cornwall in them so IMO def not worth the price tag. x

I would recommend Celtic Sheepskin boots too. They are great.

dingdong3 · 28/01/2010 09:54

Thanks for all those reccs girls....I am looking for a less expensive pair too so thinking of going with the EMU ones! Bluebump, what's the sizing like?

Hulababy · 28/01/2010 09:57

Emu look quite good alternatives. My DD has some and they have the firm shoe part at the bottom still.

Littlepumpkinpie · 28/01/2010 12:20

Another vote here for Celtic Sheepskin. Its is a UK company that employs local people the deliverly time is fantastic too.

RamblingRosa · 28/01/2010 12:24

I don't have any UGG style boots but just wanted to big up the Celtic boots as I read something recently about how ethical they were as compared to some other companies.

dottyaboutstripes · 28/01/2010 12:44

EMU will be the TSV on QVC tomorrow - sometimes excellent prices on QVC. Though obviously I have no idea which style (am secretly hoping it might be on baby ones, wishful thinking I reckon!)

Freyfreysmum · 28/01/2010 12:58

OMG the Celtic boots look lush! And great soles. Thank you woweee.

Sorry, I only just saw you'd asked me a question...I'm a 5 in normal shoes and bought a 4 in these and they are fine, still big really.

dingdong3 · 28/01/2010 20:15

That's ok bluebump...I know what it's like. Bought the charcoal tall ones just 20 mins ago!! Got the 7 even tho I'm a 6.5. Measured my feet so hoping they're ok. Thanks for the rec....can't wait to get them!
