Darling PP, please advise me...

I am thinking about the following styles which are on sale

Metz
Naples
Vantaa
Messina
Talamore
Navarra
Remo

My problem is that I am a size 6.5. Do you think I should size up to a 7 or down to a 6?

I have VERY skinny calves ( Duo's smallest size)and slim feet, so worried that the 7 will be too big/wide

I will phone Customer Services in the morning but two of the styles I have been watching have sold out over the weekend so I was hoping to buy online today. I am a long way from any stores

KristinaM · 24/01/2010 14:59

I have only ever had one pair of Duos (I forget what they were called), but found they came up big, and I have big wide size 8's and ginormous calves.

BikeRunSki · 24/01/2010 23:01

They are Malmos.

I often have to buy a 7 when shoe shopping but was measured instore and my duo boots are a size 6.

I adore my boots and would now never buy from anywhere else as they are so perfect on my calves, I am a 34 leg, but even knowing my size now would still want to try on instore before buying as the ankle area size seems standard and I have found it to be far too 'baggy' on some styles.

That's not too helpful as you are far from stores but better to be fully informed, especially as you're getting a narrower size than me so I think it would be more of an issue.

BikeRunSki · 24/01/2010 23:12

I find the ankles on mine very baggy too, and I have huge claves/ankles/feet.

KristinaM · 25/01/2010 00:40

yes i do have skinny ankles so that would be a problem

i will phone duo in the morning and ask them about baggy ankles

sizes do come up big. i'm an 8 with large calves and i ordered the size that i measured for and they were huge, had to go back for a 7 and 3cm smaller calf width.

KristinaM · 26/01/2010 00:43

thank you all. i have ordered the size 6 and will report back when they arrive

Yes, sizes do come up big.

A word of warning about the Talamore though - I found that i couldn't get it on my foot as I have quite a high instep; so while calf width wasn't a problem, the shape of the boot was. A shame, as they're lovely

KristinaM · 26/01/2010 10:47

oh dear, I have ordered it, hope its ok

i was tempted by the sale prices and so many here have said how lovely the duo boots are.normally I wear trousers for most of the winter as skirts /dresses and wellie like baggy boots are not a good look

a bit that you have to pay £5 postage for each pair, hope i don't have to return too many or it wipes out a lot of the savings

OP posts:
aarghhelp · 26/01/2010 11:23

Aaah. I have a narrow foot but a very high instep, which was the reason I didn't buy a very nice pair of Gant boots in the sale the other week.

maybe I should forget mail order long boots and wait till I see a pair that fit in the flesh, so to speak.

NotaStepfordWife · 28/01/2010 18:36

I did have to try on about 15 pairs of duo boots in the shop before I found a couple of pairs that fitted due to my high instep and/or horribly wide feet. I would never order online as I do have slightly peculiar feet Most people will be fine, i'm sure.

Oh, and surf for discount codes for no P&P - quite often have then online
