Thinking of buying some wellies.....

Fed up of getting soaked doing the school run, my sons school has a flooding issue and there are huge puddles for me to jump over every morning, have seen more and more mums wearing them, shall i get some? or is someone going to talk some sense into me.

Where shall i order from? not really wanting to spend 'hunters' prices though and not wanting anything too child like. Will i still be able to drive in them?

don't get flashy in your face patterned ones - screams is just a bit overdone now. subtle ones best I would say. i have gorgeous orla kiely ones bought in sale last year, they are grey/black. love em

How on earth have you managed to get through the last few weeks without wellies?! I'm presuming you live somewhere that wasn't affected badly by snow.

I'm sick of the sight of my wellies as they were the only footwear that I wore for 2 weeks as it was so bad here.

Garden centres often have a good selection of sturdy but tasteful wellies.

Nooo to Wellies. Unless you live on a farm.

Leather boots with skinny jeans or tights/dress.

leather boots no good in the rain - we have an hour round trip walking!

I wore leather boots and skinny jeans today and got wet feet -I just couldn't face wearing sodding wellies again!

I have literally just bought some - Dunlop. Tried on the 'Ladies Hunters' but rejected on the grounds of cost (4 x Dunlop), height (I'm a short arse and don't like a wellie top digging in the back of my knee) and heel, which I just find a bit odd on a wellie. Have to say the Dunlops look fairly basic but they have a grip sole etc. What can you say - it's a wellie innit.

PS Bloke (Foxes sports) said biggest seller in past few weeks an 'apres ski' boot which everyone has bought for walking in the snow. Now sold out - and not as waterproof as wellies.

i'm pregnant and didn't leave the house in the ice and snow. Have various leather boots and they either leak or the leather is getting ruined from the rain.

If you can afford it, try and find real wellies which are neoprene lined. They are like wet-suits for your feet and even hours standing about in the snow will still leave your feet toasty warm.

I've got these, but only because I do loads of country sports, so need them to last for ever.

You can get much much cheaper un-branded neoprene ones, just by searching google though.
