my ds1 is 10.5yr he dresses alot in bright colours yellow, pink purple etc i like h&m atm for him.

shhhh · 22/01/2010 20:52

I hate the majority of boys clothes. Im a nightmare when shopping for ds as all shops thend to stock are "typrical" boyish designs and colours...not my taste.

I do love P.O.P for boys tops and ted baker do nice things... Ds's wardrobe is about half the size of dd's but I guess his is more expensive or even the same value as I rarely find "cheaper" stuff for him iykiwm...Tesco/asda is a no no for me for boys stuff sadly...

suwoo · 22/01/2010 21:08

Tesco and asda are a huge no no in my book too. Their tops are also a bit 'square' shaped like next and they don't have anything plain at all. I have actually seen a pair of baseball boots for ds1 in asda that are gorgeous and are only £11, so will be getting them with next weeks shopping. Tops and pants are shocking though. Girls stuff is ok, fortunately dd is fond of chav clothes

I think there can be a huge snobbery tho over clothes. I've had some fantastic pieces from George, Tesco and Tu. I bought some lovely shaggy lined hooded tops from tu for about £9 each much much nicer than the boden ones that are twice the price.

Also i really like H&M they do alot of their tops more slim fitting Suwoo. Depends on the shape of your child. In that link that nappyaddict kindly put up of my ds3 i don't personally think he suits so well the slim fitting styles of alot of the scandinavian brands. He's quite a chubby lad however ds1 and 2 are v.slim and look fabby in skinny jeans.

pokemon y
dr who y
star wars y

i find boys don't usually want to go out with an animal design unless they're very little and wouldn't care what they were wearing anyway

wilbur · 23/01/2010 17:14

Depends on the design though, SEA - my ds would wear a shirt with a panda on, but not a cutie-pie panda, more a kung-fu panda or a panda on a motorbike. He probably would not wear a t-shirt with lots of little pandas on it, though, no matter how cool they were. Although weirdly, he might wear a design like that in the form of a hawaiian shirt for summer over a plain t-shirt. In warmer months, he likes to channel his inner Tom Selleck.

nappyaddict · 23/01/2010 18:09

Oh my gosh I am so sorry Nicola!! I saw your link on here of DS3 in that top and thought of this thread so I went on ebay to link to one similar and I must have copy and pasted the wrong tab. Hopefully not too much damage caused as you don't mind links of the DC being on MN? This was what I meant to link to.
