Hair slides for adults?

OK, I have really bad hair -think Hermione in the first couple of Harry Potter films, minus the fringe.
I'm going to get a decent cut but in the meantime I need to be able to see out.

Anyone come across any hair slides/grips that wont make me look like a 8 year old?. I have tried Accessorise but looked like i was going to a wedding.

i have long wild hair, and anything with a metal part snags like hell, i sympathise. i use those plastic claw things, you know, with a spring? you can get big ones to grab all your hair back,or little ones to pull bits off your face.thats all i use now.or try a fabric hairband?looks good.hermione has good hair ithink!
