Best place to have a designer clear out?

Advice, please, ladies.

Am not strong enough to join to thrift thread, but really need to cut spending as freelance work is thin on the ground, so am thinking about culling some of my shoes to boost funds.

Have some Choo, Moschino and Louboutin heels, all either hardly worn or not at all (was a sample sale addict in my fash mag hag days, and used to buy just-in-case pairs of heels to keep in my desk drawer ).

Is Ebay my best bet, or would I get a better price in a designer nearly-new type shop?

Your thoughts, please!

my living room is free for your use whenever you like, love

RamblingRosa · 15/01/2010 11:46

I've tried both and they're both hit and miss to be honest. I get annoyed with how little you get for really good stuff at designer nearly new shops. But then they have the advantage of being easier than faffing around with ebay.

It depends on the label you're selling and I reckon those labels would sell well on ebay. You could get quite a handsome sum for the Choos and Louboutins in particular.

What size are they out of interest...(I'm so struggling with this thrift thread thing !)

LetThemEatCake · 15/01/2010 11:47

have got good prices on Choos in past on eBay. Those shops take hefty cut. What size feet are you? Find my shoes sell well bc big, therefore hard to come by

eBay reached bigger audience too...

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 15/01/2010 11:55

They are all size 5, so smaller-than-average, but not teeny-wee.

Think we take some pics this weekend and try some on Ebay-or maybe leave it a few weeks, as January is a lean month for most people. Will get the photos done anyway, or else will never get round to it.

Cheers for your advice!

5 should be ok, 6s and 7s seem to go for less, perhaps bc ubiquitous.
Set starting price reasonably high!! I tend to decide what I'd be willing to accept and then knock 10-15% off in the listing, in expectation it will reach my minimum. Seems to work. Good luck!

If you're in London, have you heard of Jumble and Pearls? their FB group It's organised by a pal of mine.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 15/01/2010 12:17

Oooh I love Jumble and Pearl!

I think ebay may not be good as people don't often trust that they are not fakes.

Do you still have the bags/ boxes etc

MarshaBrady · 15/01/2010 12:18

here?

MummyAnnabella · 15/01/2010 14:45

SerenityNowAKABleh · 15/01/2010 14:50

geordieminx · 15/01/2010 19:41
