I have got the cashmere cardi in ultramarine- nice, sending back the St Ives cardi- totally shapeless, and keeping the satin plimsolls. Jigsaw did some last year almost identical but they sold out quickly.

Thinking about a bag, a dress- maybe the Must Have shift dress, and not sure what else but I can exchange the cardi and get 20% off other stuff.

Anyone else?

Bell- agree. About all dresses! The Pretty Dress looks very similar to one that I sent for last year in floral blues, but sent back as it aged me by about 20 years straight away.

Somehow floral "over 50" can look very Thora Hurd, IYSWIM! Especially if the cut is A line.

I am oping that Jigsaw may come up with something this year- I refused to but a simple linen dress last year from them at £90+.

Have had the sring merino tunics previously and they are lightweight wool, not winter duty ones.Have a green one from 2 seasons ago and a magenta one from last year.Wore them with cream or white linen trousers and white cami on cooler days, they only have 3/4 length sleeves also.
Am considering the blue myself, also the grey/white silk top.
As presents for my birthday

"Georgi- thisis not meant be to e slag off Boden thread- it is supposed to be a thread for reviews instead of waiting for the reviews on their website. If you don't like it, don't join in!"

I think you're taking yourself and your Boden quest a little bit seriously love. You asked a question "what have you ordered and like?" I answered it. Get over yourself.

doghouse · 14/01/2010 19:46

Ordered:-

navy patent pumps - love these, true to size and something that I have been wanting for a long time

navy straight leg capris - love these too! brilliant fit and very well made. can see myself getting the green too later in the season

essential shirt in pink 'orla kiely' print - bit busy for me and colours not as nice as I expected

... lusting after the satin plimsolls; may get those later in season too.

Georgimama darling, go and take a chill pill.
What an extraordinary patronising reaction from you! Why bother to say you haven't ordered anything? You must be very bored if you have to go to all the bother of answering threads in which you have no interest, other than to try to be nasty and provocative.

As said previously, this is a thread to help people who might want an alternative to Boden's own reviews onsite- which do not always include all the negative reviews.

I love Stripy Boyfriend Cardigan - got in Mauve and Blue

Also loving the Textured Ruffle Tee's - got various different colours/polka dots - favourite is Mauve (again!)

Not too keen on the Crinkle Jersey Dress as seems a bit shapeless, but keeping as it will make an excellent maternity dress at some point!

Childrenswear - loving everything esp the baby boy's Surfsuit which is too cute for words!

Only sending back one thing - the Relaxed Cardigan - very odd shape indeed.

aquavit · 15/01/2010 14:10

Has anyone got the knitted scoop neck? I am hankering after the oatmeal stripe version but usually find Boden a little short in the body (I am 5'10 and like my tops LONG).

sybilfaulty · 15/01/2010 14:45

Can I just ask, have you gals got the S/S catalogue or have you just looked online? I love the catalogue and seeing it all at once, and whilst I dip in and out of the website, the catalogue would enable me to spend more.

Very tempted by satin plimsolls. Glad people seem to like them

fififolle · 15/01/2010 14:50

Bad bad people, you've made me order far too many things! So far on the list:
satin plimsols
textured shift dress
ruffled t-shirt
flare chinos
white shorts....
now sorely tempted by boyfriend cardi.
All these things have been ordered with the hope I'll get in to them in the summer - I'm currently 26weeks. Don't anybody even dare mention that I may be slightly delusional!!!

PDR · 15/01/2010 14:52

fififolle - boyfriend cardi is v lovely! and would look v nice with a bump!

Ronaldinhio · 15/01/2010 14:56

I found it all rubbish this season it seems to be getting more awful each year except for the trousers
flare chinos and wideleg cottons stay

rubyblueslippers · 15/01/2010 15:35

Back to the review the Favourite Jersey Dress, as promised.

Here.

Obviously, being jersey, it's quite clingly but the pattern means it's not too unforgiving.

One thing I was disappointed about- this really isn't pink. The picture is a bit misleading. There is much more lilac and purple shades than pink, and it's also much brighter than the website sugests. Not one if you want to blend in. I don't think the colours will suit me- more suitable for a blonde, I would say.

purplepeony · 15/01/2010 16:21

Tell me ladies about the flared chinos...

last year I mentioned chinos and Boden inthe same sentence and was laughed off the planet. Told both were a style disaster.

But where else/what else can one wear as a summer trouser if you want to be a little smarter and not wear jeans ? There are the capris which I might buy but last years cropped trews- very similar were longer- see this year's capris are a couple of inches shorter.

I am also thinking of the rose cardi- any takers?

So at last my preview order AND newly ordered merino top arrive on the same day. The latter is a nice shape - and not baggy at front although the neck line does benefit from a padded bra (if one is bereft of cleavage like me). Its actually slightly lighter than a true indigo, and a thin wool so won't be too hot in that lovely warm summer we are going to have hah hah. Will keep and hope it doesn't bobble. The gathered front top (in the mauve) pretty although very thin - if summer like last year will only be worn on holiday.

The kids' clothes were mainly staples (clamdiggers etc) I order every year. Did notice that the towelling hoodie (in purple) a rather 'rougher' fabric than previously.

HarrogateMum · 19/01/2010 18:16

I got my order yesterday - also ordered merino tunic in indigo, really like it. Got the cropped chinos in the natural/stoney colour - very nice but blimey quite a tight fit! I find their size 12 skirts fine and even a bit roomy but these 12s, well I had better not put any weight on between now and summer!

Also got the hotchpotch bikini brown bubbles one with a view to actually getting a holiday this year

HarrogateMum · 19/01/2010 18:17

i meant capris of course...the straightleg ones...
