I bought an epilator yesterday and am going to use it tonight so any tips, should I have a bath first and is it ok to put body lotion on after, wish there was a scared emoticon

I personally wouldn't use lotion after just in case it irritates the skin.

Bath is fine, exfoliating is a good idea (you can make one with salt and olive oil if you don't have one) but dry your skin thoroughly before you use it, stretch the skin taught and it might be worth doing a dry shave if you're not used to having your hair ripped put by the roots

Don't be scared but do take paracetemol if you have a low pain threshold!

I bought an epilator last summer but I really don't get on with it at all, it doesn't seem to do the job. Shall I just give up on it or is there something obvious I'm missing?

I've had an epilator for years and simply can't use it. It's agony. It took me two weeks to do a one inch square patch on my leg. Never again. You have to wait for it to grow again. I use Venus razors. Fab.
