I don't think you'll manage 5 days then. I'd just wash them on the 2nd day and they'll be dry by morning.

sunburntats · 12/01/2010 16:39

mine dont smell, i get out of shower, deo and nice talc then clothes, car, work, change.

then change and home. Mine smell nice, no wiffy crotches in this house, even after 5 days.

Cyb · 12/01/2010 16:40

Perhaps I'll try it as an experiemnt. At the very least if I've got a cloud of dust and flies buzzing around me I might get some peace and quiet

I'm really skanky and I would only do two days as well.

monkeysmama · 12/01/2010 16:41

Good luck. You could start a "Anyone interested in a "wear your trousers for 5 days" thread?"

belgo · 12/01/2010 16:41

If you don't sweat much and if you take them off and hang them up as soon as you get home from work, then I don't see why not.

Too much washing is bad for clothes and uses a lot of energy.

Cyb · 12/01/2010 16:42

monkeys I might just do that

Not sure about trousers as I don't wear them for work, but I wear work dresses and skirts many times before washing - I have loads of layers under them though (underwear, tights, full slip thing) and I suppose dresses have a bit less, erm, 'contact' with intimate areas.

I think we wash things too much though. Apart from underwear, vest tops etc, lots of 'outer' clothes that have been worn a couple of times just need airing, not washing, imo. Probably different if you sweat easily.

mrsshackleton · 12/01/2010 16:44

I wore my jeans for seven days in a row last week

Miraculously, they stayed clean and they were warm. I wear knickers, they didn't smell, so why on earth wash them?

Do I win the superskank crown?

madwomanintheattic · 12/01/2010 16:50

nah mrss. that's me

i've put on so much weight i only have 1 pair of jeans, i pair of work trousers, and a work skirt that i can fit into. i shower and do use the washing machine lol, but 2 days???? i've got 3 kids that go through about 3 changes of clothes a day for various reasons - i don't need any more unnecesary laundry!

madwomanintheattic · 12/01/2010 16:51

please ignore typos, keyboard doing odd stuff this am. is mn slow for everyone else?

Spidermama · 12/01/2010 16:53

Normally three or four days but I see no problem with it unless one has a particularly smelly fanny.

bubblerock · 12/01/2010 17:00

Can you not buy another pair the same?

MarthaFarquhar · 12/01/2010 17:02

my jeans go weeks, weeks I tell you.
as long as they pass the sniff test then all's right with the world.

MissWooWoo · 12/01/2010 17:15

I think jeans are a different kettle of fish

Maybe for you it'd be fine, but no way for me and I shower every morning and wear clean knickers every day (don't we all?)

Bramshott · 12/01/2010 17:29

I used to change my whole outfit religiously after 2 days, but in this cold weather, with nothing drying, I have been gradually inching up . Tops now on 3 days, and jeans on 4! To be fair, I work at home so no-one outside the family knows how skanky I am ! My motto at the moment is "if it's warm, wear it"!

Mellin · 12/01/2010 17:41

Buy another pair of said jeans and alternate.

I agree that jeans can go a multitude of wears without a wash, but a good airing every couple of days avoidness any rankness.

BlueKangerooWonders · 12/01/2010 17:47

Agree re the 'airing'! and I did hear that putting clothing in the freezer overnight(wrapped!!!) kills off all germs and makes them wearable again. Would be a bit of a shock in the morning though...

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 12/01/2010 17:49

I still want to know what type of acid dripping fannys (ies?) you all have that burns thru your knickers and makes your trousers smell.

cocolepew · 12/01/2010 17:51

cyb

differentID · 12/01/2010 17:53

2 days tops and then washed. Depends on how filthy they are. ATM, I ca\n only get 1 wear out of the n=becasue they get filthy from the floor.

cocolepew · 12/01/2010 17:56

I have btw, I do take them off when I come home though. [Tries to pretend I'm not skanky]. Jeans are better when wore for a few weeks days.

NoahAndTheWhale · 12/01/2010 18:02

I probably wear jeans at least 5 times before they get washed, but probably not on consecutive days.

Laurily · 12/01/2010 18:30

Jeans are certainly a little different to other trousers and I would say you could probably wear them more than two days running before washing.
If you are someone who worries about what your colleagues would say if they knew then remember that many people on here think it's wrong. I often wear my jeans 3, 4 or even 5 days without washing them but not consecutively (and so camouflage my skankiness!). As long as you aren't doing a lot of activity in them or getting them dirty, it's fine.

Cyb · 12/01/2010 18:32

coco thats who I had in mind when I said that! I used to love peanuts...

Have you seen that funny thread about you and corny etc
