first time to Mini Boden, are their sizes small or big

DD is just 4, but quite big for her age. She is a size up in H & M, and the right size in P.O.P. Not sure whether to buy 3-4 or 5-6

Small sizes def buy bigger

God, I would have said that they are large. I have a tall, and rather solid DD who normally sizes up, but Boden fits in the correct age.

FranSanDisco · 12/01/2010 17:37

I would say they are a little generous too.

really? my mum bought for my dds (9th centile and 25th centile) and my two nieces (6th centile and 'average') and it was all too small!

My dd1 who is 2 ended up with my niece's age 4 dress and it fits her fine.

MaggieMnaSneachta · 12/01/2010 18:30

small in my opinion, but I have only bought four items.

My children are average. Well, I presume they are, mother's height + father's height ./. 2 = average.

I bought a wool dress for my dd last year when she was 6 and I bought her aged 7-8 and it fitted her well. It's too small for her now really. She still wears it but If I'd just bought it I'd be hmmmmmm

I got my 3 year old some 3-4 tops when he wasn't quite three and they were just nice on him.

very small head holes ime.

cornsilkscatholichamster · 12/01/2010 18:33

larger than next, similar to gap

alarkaspree · 12/01/2010 18:35

some items small, some large. I bought pyjamas for ds in size 12-18 months and ended up having dd (two years older) wear them for a year. And I bought trousers for ds in size 12-18 months and couldn't even get them on him.

[not a boden fan]

I think Gap is a rough equivalent as well. Dd2 is 4, average height, a bit bigger round the middle. Age 4 tops and pinafore-type dresses fit her fine, but for trousers she needs age 5. She is def age 5 in Next and other brands though.
