I have one of these. Have not touched it in over a year. Am considering ebaying it bc

  1. have a 3mo so will need bag roomy enough for nappies/ portapotty for at least next 2-3 years.
  2. Even after that, will still need bag roomy enough for the stuff that having 3 dcs inevitably entails
  3. it's a very winter bag and I am moving to sunnier shores
  4. It's a very structured bag which is not really suitable for my current or projected lifestyle - will likely never work in an office environment as am freelance, much more a slouchy bag person

but part of me wants to keep it purely for 'iconic' value - although at the same time, that value is a very British thing I think, and will have little or no relevance when I leave this country

WWYD??

Check out how much they're going for on ebay. I am a Mulberry bag lover and have two Bayswaters. I was toying with the idea of selling one when things were particularly bad but the rates the bags were going for on ebaby were just too low.

I think you should keep it - it's an investment/heirloom (or so I tell myself everytime I buy something really expensive).

there is a chocolate one on ebay going for £180 at the moment - 3hrs to go. Bet it goes for a lot more.

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2010 18:27

right then. let's see what happens with this one

That one might not even sell for as much as yours as the seller only has 1 feedback so a lot of people will be wary?

dexter73 · 11/01/2010 18:57

How much would you want to get for it to consider selling it?

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2010 19:14

£250-£300 I guess...

Aww, don't do it! It's a classic. I would never be parted from mine.
If you use it more it will get slouchier especially if you are lax like me and don't store it properly. As belledame says, any dd would be ecstatic to have it handed down in years to come.

MrsSeanBean · 11/01/2010 20:10

BTW anyone would be right to be wary of that ebay bag listed to. It doesn't look quite right for some reason, leather looks too plastic-like / shiny / waxy. Although the inside looks kind of ok. Maybe I am just an old cynic.

LetThemEatCake · 11/01/2010 20:12

yes I must say, mine looks nothing like that!! she's got plenty of bids though....?

It went for £210. Might be worth keeping yours?

Divatheshopaholic · 11/01/2010 21:23

do sell it, will surely regret it.

jemart · 12/01/2010 00:13

I'd keep it, I use my bayswater to carry dc's junk all the time. Amazing how much stuff you can cram in there actually.
