Mental!

nancydrewrocks · 11/01/2010 04:24

Christ some of those outfits are inadvisable in the middle of summer.

However I do distinctly remember in my university days going to a club dressed in hotpants and heals and having to dodge the snowballs of some of the students who had never seen snow.

It seems to be a northern phenomena - once I moved back to London everyone took a coat out.

peacocks · 11/01/2010 06:36

TigerFeet · 11/01/2010 12:05

sometimes, more is more

ProfYaffle · 11/01/2010 12:08

The first one looks dangerous tbh. In my day I took a coat when I went clubbing and put it in the bleedin' cloakroom! I dunno, youth of today ....

transmission · 11/01/2010 12:14

hmm nice daily mail aricle there - such bitchy comments too. lovely

ImSoNotTelling · 11/01/2010 12:14

I hope someone picked that poor woman in the first picture up and took her somewhere warm. I can't imagine someone would have taken a photo and then just left her there, surely

Garrylous · 11/01/2010 12:23

peacocks · 11/01/2010 14:06

I only mentioned the Newcastle girls because it's their default mode -- all others are just following in their footsteps

geordieminx · 11/01/2010 14:15

TBH, It is the norm for girls in newcastle to go out dressed like that - no matter what the weather. Although most of the bars in Newcastle are pretty close together in groups, so you never have to walk more than 20 yards to the next pub. Its all very well saying put you coat into a cloak room but bars dont have cloak rooms - so the majority of time you are left trying to balance coat/bag/drink - which isnt very easy. I never used to go out with a coat, and tbh, apart from if it is snowing/pissing down, I try and avoid taking one even now - too much hassle.

Bit of a shiter if you come out a club at 2am and there is an hour wait for a taxi - but there are ways and means of avoiding that.

Aside from that - I think the first pic is shocking, and cannot believe that someone would pause to take a picture - she looks like she is dying.

Also love the girls almost wearing the black dress and the girl in the white tutu - a real true representation of the girls from Newcastle.

mrstimlovejoy · 11/01/2010 14:23

don't people look in the mirror before they go out or do they have those mirrors like they have at fairgrounds

Garrylous · 11/01/2010 14:23

you obviouly didn't hang around paradise lost in watford then

brimfull · 11/01/2010 14:33

omg
speechless

BelleDameSansMerci · 11/01/2010 14:40

Garrylous in my long distant youth I was often seen in a cocktail dress although not at Wetherspoon's as they had yet to be invented... The 80s were great for a cocktail dress and a cocktail bar come to that.

These pics really did make me smile (apart from the first one). I know it's wrong and that people should cover up and not binge drink but you've got to admire their spirit. Or is it just me?
