What is everyone's wardrobe like?

Following on from the 'frugal' thread where we are all going to try to make more use of what we already have...?

What sort of wardrobe do you have and how do you organise your stuff?

Personally I get on well with drawers, but I love 'shallow' (not much room between).

I have a double floor to ceiling height fitted wardrobe plus one separate chest of drawers. I hang lots of stuff, stack shoe boxes underneath and have several shelves for accessories - scarves / hats / belts / gloves etc. T-shirts/ vests/ underwear / thick jumpers are stored in the chest of drawers.

MrsSB - Le Bon Marché department store is really very useful! It has nearly everything I want for me and DD.

I'm not really a Chanel sort, but I'm sure many of the women round here find their proximity to Chanel very convenient.

I tend to buy two pairs of knickers to each bra.

However as bf its just one pair of knickers to each bra. I do like to match really.

Regards wardrobe - I have one double wardrobe and a few draws.

But like Bonsoir I cull my clothes regularly. I also put the opposing season's clothes into storage boxes that live in my utility room.

Bonsoir · 10/01/2010 16:25

Yes, I buy two or even three pairs of knickers per bra (especially if one pair is for special occasions only particularly skimpy ).

Swedington · 10/01/2010 16:34

I don't do skimpy knickers. And I think thongs are yeuch. But perhaps I need to start buying two pairs of big knickers to each set. Not a bad idea.

Swedington · 10/01/2010 16:37

I am going to go and have wardrobe cull right now. I feel in the mood.

@ the thought of Bonsoir in Bon Marche (can't do the accent)

NomDePlume · 10/01/2010 16:49

(btw - I know in Gay Paree it is prob something v chic but over here it is a naffo shop akin to Ethel Austin)

traceybath · 10/01/2010 16:52

NDP - lol.

I think its the Paris equivalent of Harvey Nichols but could be wrong.

NomDePlume · 10/01/2010 16:54

i wouldn't expect anything less tracey

We each have a double wardrobe in our room, plus another double wardrobe each in our dressing room - and we share two chests of drawers as well.

I suspect we both have too many clothes

I also wear matching bras and knickers - I don't buy a second pair of the knickers, just pop them both in the wash daily. Doesn't exactly bulk out the washing pile much!

Having said that, I do have a couple of plain black knickers that I wear with some of my black and pink bras to get a second day out of them but they still co-ordinate. I don't like practical underwear so I have separate knickers for the gym again

Small 2 door, shallow Pax wardrobe each. Chest of drawers each. DH's better organised than mine.

No sets of underwear, can't abide them, plain comfy knickers, pretty bras and vests all the way here. I do like a good vest and luckily it very rarely gets warm enough for me to take it off .

I store out of season clothes in a vacuum chest in a cupboard in ds's room.
