I'm scared of my Primark sequin bag

Bowing to peer MN pressure I have acquired one admittedly some months after you all have yours.

I like it, but it's scaring me. I'm not sure it'll work here.

School starts again on Tuesday, do you dare me to take it on the school run? I'm not sure I have the courage to....

nothing to be scared of other than the instant recognition of the Primark Sequin Bag.

I think they are fab but I don't think 'ooo sparkly' anymore when I see one; I think 'ooo they've been to primark'

but it wouldn't stop me using it non-stop if I had one

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 16:09

It's this MrsS.

I am intrigued. Obviuously missed earlier threads on this. Sequin + school run not a natural or intuitive combination imho.

Cheappinkfizz · 06/01/2010 16:11

I hear you! I gave mine to my 13 yo niece for christmas, she was thrilled, decided it was one step too far!

MrsSeanBean · 06/01/2010 16:11

Aha, thanks for link. Sorry, not my cup of tea I'm afraid, although I guess it would cheer up a daytime ensemble.

Go for it if you feel like it I say!

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 16:11

The point is, is that there aren't many round these parts and let's say, I would fair stand out in the crowd.

Smallwhiteone you would be scared too, I'm telling you. I can't just shut it a drawer, someone went to a great deal of effort to get that to me. I have to use it.

Oooh you are the girl from Tiger Bay honey

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 16:17

I'll have to put some slap on as well won't I? To live up the Bassey-esquness of it?

OP posts:
orangina · 06/01/2010 16:17

There were loads in primark the other day when I popped in.... and they are selling on ebay?
i am usually kind of over sequins after christmas..... though i quite like this one. Will brighten things up between all the duvet coats....

itchyandscratchy · 06/01/2010 16:19

you have to use it like it's absolutely no big deal at all. Carry it with a 'yeah-it's-8.30am-and-I-accessorize-like-liberace-what-you-gonna-do-about-it' type attitude. Anyone who wears fab things like they don't even notice are the ones that I envy

orangina · 06/01/2010 16:21

Yes to make up though. Don@t forget the lippy.

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 16:22

Should I point out at this moment that I live in the tropics and it's 27 degrees? Doesn't change a thing, really, itchy is right, it's about attitude.

slummymummy36 · 06/01/2010 16:23

I take mine everywhere and most days I get stopped and asked by someone "Where can I get one?".

They must be the few people who do not KNOW about this famous bag!! LOL

Most are shocked when I say Primark and one lady in Reading (after ooohing and ahhing and complimenting me on my bag) said "ooo dammit. I thought it was from Hobbs or somewhere like that. I cant possibly buy one from Primark." That mae me laugh!!

I love my Primarni sequin bag! I carry it with pride! May go back and get the black one too!

orangina · 06/01/2010 16:25

Hahaha! do you really master? I thought it would reflect nicely off all this lovely SNOW we have here....

(am VAIR jealous of your 27 degrees!).

thelunar66 · 06/01/2010 16:27

Oh its a lovely bag. I have it in black. It is perfect for carrying my shoes around during this snowy weather (wear snowboots to get around outside).

I also use it for gym kit, swimming kit, running club etc.

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/01/2010 16:31

I do orange, I do So imagine, little summer dress, beaded thong-like sandals AND a large shiny bag number.

That's if we are not wading through inches of El Niño mud.

orangina · 06/01/2010 16:36

I am exceedingly jealous!

I'll leave you to imagine my thermal poloneck, merino wool tunic over topshop baxter skinny jeans, waistcoat effort on top of that and biker boots at the bottom.

Ok, you win. I think it would be CRIMINAL not to use the bag.

(at least I don't have to worry about a pedicure, my small small consolation)

ooh pretty! like the accessorize one which was £££ more!

tulpe · 06/01/2010 17:31

Like Ruby, I have it in pewter. I love using it and agree that you need to adopt an air of insouciance when using it. None of mothers at DCs school have it so I relish their longing looks

Oh and they are pretty sturdy too. Mine has been used as a beach bag, carry-on luggage (got entire contents of weekend wardrobe in there - how chic and capsule wardrobe is that?? ) and general crap carrier since May last year. Still in fabulous nick.

ClickNegg · 06/01/2010 17:32

i love mine - great in winter darkness
get LOTTS of comment about it as no primark in my town
ONLY see glam women with it( 2 so far)
