Jeans for the hourglass figure? Not lowcut, hopefully.

I never have time to shop and I usually don't much care what I wear. So I end up buying in charity shops -- which is fine for Green reasons, but I am getting fed up with poor fit.

I'd like jeans that

  1. stay up without a belt,
  2. sit more than 3mm above my hips (1 & 2 go together, really)
  3. Don't cost the earth (since I'm used to charity shop prices)

Radically, I have curves: wide hips and narrow waist. Most things that fit over my hips are many inches too wide in my waist. Is there a make or brand of jeans more likely to fit someone with an old-fashioned figure? I think that Levi 501s used to be good for me, but is their cut the same now? Which shop(s) should I visit first? Any advice to expedite my search appreciated.

My jeans from Gap are a 32 waist and a 30 length so they do make them. But not in curvey fit. They do them in Bootcut. Not sure about other styles.
