DD has just got a new (very large) tattoo on the back of her left shoulder - it looks really nice, and isn't weeping much. The tattoo artist recommended frequent use of bepanthen cream, but DD had forgotten it was Sunday today & by the time he'd finished, all the shops were shut.

So can anyone recommend a substitute she can use until she can get to the shops - I do have some Waitrose baby bottom butter(!)and various hand creams/moisturisers - will any kind do, or are there any ingredients it must (or must not) have?

Hello, make sure she keeps the cling film on it for a week to 10 days so that as little scab as possible forms on it. She can let it "breathe" for a while every day though. Loads and loads of bepanthen for a couple of weeks, wash 3 times a day.

RustyBear · 07/01/2010 16:56

Yes, it's normally covered, I took the photo after she'd just washed it & before its next annointing.

Apparently it took around 3 hours to do!

Bet it hurt like a bitch. My 3hour epic across my back had me almost crying with pain by the end.
