Did you know that the Vital Radiance range of make up in POUNDLAND is actually Revlon?

Or am the last to find this out?

I bought a lovely foundation in it yesterday, Line Softening Pore Refining Makeup. It says it's for normal/combination skin, but my skin feels dry atm and it was lovely to put on.

I also got 3 Rimmel lipsticks and 2 Revlon eyeliners in it.

Can you tell it's our first Poundland

We've only got a 99p shop. Damn that extra penny!

We're very fashion forward over here.

I rarely go into poundland, because I always end up spending vast amounts of money. As I get over excited with everything being so cheap. Now you have tempted me again, and I don't even wear make up that much!

Shhhhhh, the Daily Mail is listening.

I bought 4 more today I love Poundland. I even bought hair dye in it. This could be a step too far.

I fear baldness is approaching.

Hair dye a success, no baldness and a nice colour [flicks glossy mane]. Pretty basic no conditioner infused with apricot or the such, but a £! Result.

I've never been into a Poundland. I assumed it just sold toilet paper etc.
What else am I missing? Is it a kind of outlet store then?

vivalepew · 03/01/2010 17:57

Ours opened just before christmas. It has a lot of named brands, Colgate, Radox, Maybelline, Rimmel, Elle, etc. I was watching a programme on discount shops and the buyer for Poundland was saying they get end of range, unpaid for orders or overstock. This is why they don't always get the same stuff in. The make up is put into plastic bags rather than the name packaging. If you see something it's best to buy it rather than wait in case they don't get it in again.

I love poundland too, but you have to be careful sometimes the shower gels or shampoo for example at £1 can actually be bought for 99p/98p/97p in the likes of superdrug or boots. And don't buy the paracetamol tablets, they charge £1 for 3 but they cost 19p normally in other stores.

The nicky clarke hair curling spray is fantastic, I put it on DD's hair after her bath and she gets all her little ringlets back. It's good for me as well if I'm going on a night out but don't have time to wash my hair. Spray a light mist for freshening up my straight hair before blow drying.

bubblagirl · 03/01/2010 18:17

LadyBiscuit · 03/01/2010 18:26

I got three 2010 annuals last week (ie after xmas) for a quid each - Thomas the tank engine, Beano and a Dennis the Menace special.

I adore Poundland.

Monty100 · 03/01/2010 18:31

Goes off to Google Poundland to find nearest store.

scrappydappydoo · 03/01/2010 18:31

I love poundland as well - always have a look to see what they have. I agree you have to know your prices and sometimes you think only a £1!! and then realise you normally pay 60p or something..

Monty100 · 03/01/2010 18:37

3 near me!

vivalepew · 03/01/2010 18:41

They also do Beechams Cold And Flu capsules which are £3.34 in Boots.

The good thing is our Asda and new Iceland are price matching them .

I agree with checking the prices they had Radox Bath salts but Asda was selling them for 69p.
