I use tinted moisturiser should I be using foundation?

I've never been one for wearing alot of make up. And do not like to feel clogged up with thick makeup on. At the moment I use boots no 7 tinted moisturiser. But am wondering if I should try the intelligent foundation.

Also how do you know if you need foundation? I'm not great with makeup.

If your skin is redder in places than others and you want to, wear a foundation. I prefer a no 7 compact one. Tinted not heavy enough for me.

I use tinted moisturiser day to day and foundation when I go out. If the tinted moisturiser looks okay then don't worry. Personally I think it's much more natural for daytime.

I wear moisturizer with a hint of tan...the "summer face" jobby

I find it evens my skin tone up enough to not need foundation

I use Laura Mercier tinted foundation which is good for layering as well.

My skin does not seem redder in certain places other then my cheeks in its cold outside...

Maybe I should get a foundation for when I am going out. Not that is very often...

I use foundation for winter months, when it is cool/cold, and my skin is pale.

Tinted moisturiser is used in warmer months when I've got a bit of natural colour from the sun, and also I don't want the feeling of pores 'clogged' with makeup.

If you don't like that 'clogged' feeling go for a mineral based foundation.

It gives the same coverage but is lighter and a lot more natural.

Not all foundations feel cloggy.
Have you looked at the Clinique range? They do two at least that are very translucent. Can't remember the names but have a peek at the site

The No7 intelligent foundation is pretty light - on par with some tinted moisturisers. I use it every day, no problems with cakey feeling.

I use foundation in winter (I'm a little cherry tomato in cold weather, and don't talk to me about mulled wine!) but always think it looks a bit cakey compared to tinted mosituriser. Roll on the sun!

bell- if it looks cakey then you are not using the right sort for your skin- or applying too much and not enough moisturiser under it.

Really good foundation should look just like your own skin, only better.

when I see (young) people with obvious foundation, it tends to look too matte, too dark and too heavily applied.
