Make-up bag/box?

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 20:56

I have an inordinate amount of make-up.

At the moment it is on a shelf in wardrobe (high high up to stop ds getting it) in a sort of square drawer organiser type thing from Ikea.

Its getting on my nerves.

I want something nice, that I can organise everything in properly, that everything fits into, that I can clean out, that is nice.

Please help.

chuck 90% of it away. you can't possibly wear it all

brimfull · 26/12/2009 21:06

I had a good clear out a while ago , stuff goes off which i was ignoring.

try holding co for something nice and ££

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 21:06

Are you mad?

I THINK NOT.

There are many things I would get rid of, make-up would not be one of them.

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 21:20

No. Has to be above toddler height. Ds (2.5) is drawn to my make-up like a moth to a flame.

I keep mine (all 10 bits of it) in a wicker basket that I grab from the bottom of my wardrobe or by side of bed, wherever I've left it. Easier to rummage and grab what I need

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 21:35

pleaseeeeeeeeee

Was thinking something like this but not in lepard print. Ideally I would like to go to a shop and have a play with one, so I can make sure it has right size compartments for brushes etc.

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 22:56

get rid of it.

I know what you look like and you don't need makeup.

geordieminx · 26/12/2009 23:08

I do that the day you get rid of all but 1 pair of shoes, and 1 handbag.

babyicebean · 26/12/2009 23:10

Weirdly enough try B&Q and look at the tool boxes - I got one like the first Geordieminx posted but it was in silver and about £25.

LetThemEatCake · 26/12/2009 23:16

pshaw, that'd be easy. You want to reduce me to quivering, dithering, drivelling wreck? tell me to ditch all but one dress.

purplepeony · 27/12/2009 13:12

I have an M&S perspex box about 30cm square in the bathroom- lid holds brushes and the base has 2 compartments.
You might find something similar still there, or perhaps Muji?

I wonder if you need to ditch some stuff though?
I think I use quite a bit of make up and I have:
Foundation, concealer, 3 blushers, 2 lip glosses , 1 lipstick, mascara, 2 eye pencils, 2 single eye shadows, 1 Dior eye palette.

purplepeony · 27/12/2009 13:16

something like this perhaps?

LetThemEatCake · 27/12/2009 13:39

Check the "a place for everything" website. You'll have to google, sorry x

geordieminx · 27/12/2009 18:48

Its not just make-up, I would like to put all creams/potions/perfumes in too so everything is nice and tidy.

Will check out websites. Thanks
