I have possibly made (yet another) style faux pas.. lace leggings and dark lipstick

Just wrong. The lipstick will make your teeth look yellow unless you are Donny Osmond, and he would probably look better in the leggings too- they make women look like they've got varicose veins.

Only my opinion of course, you may just be much more fashion-forward than me (likely), but I really wouldn't.

The lipstick I love. The leggings are totally minging.

I think it all looks good, agree re scratchiness of the leggings. Purple lipstick will have blue tones which is very good for making teeth look whiter imho.

I have just been and bought the leggings too Lulu - havent tried them on like, got a black long line top in AllSaints to go with it, also not tried on. Will be back with verdict soon - when I can be bothered to go upstairs and get changed. I think its one of those things that is either going to look fab or hillarious.

Probably the latter with my arse and tree trunks.

You're too young to have done this the first time so you're not breaking the "rules". I'm old enough to have done this but I still wear whatever the hell I like

I have a friend who wore the same style leggings in neon pink, with a very small white skirt. It didn't look great tbh. Black ones look much nicer though. And age doesn't matter! 34 isn't even nearly old anyway!

drlove, the lipstick is va va violet super lustrous lipstick by revlon, whihc is on 3 for 2 in boots, in store and on line , HTH!!

Haha nope. Must've been about 24 at the time. Sometimes she gets things really right and looks amazing but I have also known her get it very, very wrong...

34's young. My 40 year old mate had similar tights not leggings on the other day and looked gorg. Hers were £2 in primark though. I can't wait to get some.
