Try the Little Me range - you can get it from Boots - its for babies but I have used it and its lovely. Otherwise, superdrug seem to have got some good organic ranges in.

Weleda is a good organic skincare range as well with reasonable prices. I used their Baby calendula cream for DS when he suffered from ezcema.

Green people do a range of pretty much everything you'll need.

Faith in nature are excellent, no artificial nasties in there at all. They smell incredible too.

These can usually be found in organic food shops/real nappy shops.
Holland and barret now stock a range called Dr Organics which is fairly reasonable in price.

Failing that, Boots have a brand called Naked which is 97% natural ingredients. I also have very sensitive skin and use all of these.

I've tried Naked, Natural Instinct, Aveda and all are okay (except for Aveda - hated). I found a budget SLS-free brand at superdrug which was quite good but I haven't been able to find it for a while (also can't remember the name so that's not very helpful!).

To be honest, I never found that this helped much. I was told to avoid SLS, avoid parabens etc but still had dermatitis. Careful with too much shower gel as well. Using Cetaphil as a "soap" in the shower is supposed to be best, although I find Dove soap used sparingly to be better.

Currently using head and shoulders as I was told the zinc in it was helpful (this actually was good for a while but then moved to an area with very hard water and so still have a few itchy patches on my back)

I use a range called Urtekram - I buy it from GoodnessDirect.

It is everyhting free, and comes either neutral or scented.

the neutral is very mild - it is the only thing I can use on dd1 without her reacting in some way.

Have a look on here - a whole range of stuff to suit most budgets/requirements

I love the Miessence stuff, but it si a bit pricey

ah, sorry, missed the bit about getting nthe high street.

tbh, I have found that most of the high street ones are not as friendly as they could be.

Morrisons stock an organic shampoo and conditioner. I'm sure its paraben etc free. Can't remember the name, but it's australian and only about £2 a bottle. Smells lovely too!

mum2seb · 17/12/2009 11:28

Is Liz Earle stuff paraben etc free? My sister swears by it, and she has VERY sensitive skin. I have no idea how much it is, though, but I do know that you can buy it on line. So perhaps not much help (sorry, I'll leave now...).

Do organic shampoos really make your hair feel clean if it gets greasy? I have used an organic shampoo once and didn't like it but it could have been the brand.

I too have eczema on my hands and Burts Bees hand cream/balm was very soothing.

BikeRunSnowflake · 17/12/2009 14:09

Halos n Horns shampoo get my hair very clean. Designed as baby shampoo, nasty free, from Asda. Smells yummy!

cakeslover · 17/12/2009 16:44

Jason or A'kins they are great!

SecretSantasNinjaChipmunk · 17/12/2009 19:13

wow, thanks for all your suggestions, lots to go away and check out. not sure if the paraben/ sls free thing will help the excema but worth a try.

I have eczema. I have used Green People which is free of all nasties and I still react to it.

Also tried Naked from Boots and was no good - think it might have synthetic fragrance in it which is usually a no-no for me.

I really like Dr Hauschka's body washes but they cost £££

Still looking for the holy grail, so thanks for starting the thread OP - lots of good suggestions for me too!

catinthehat2 · 17/12/2009 20:29

Boots has a botanice range with some organic products - they have a red "organinc" bit on the label and otherwise look very much lik the rest of the range. They seem to be generally paraben free. Be wary of things like Origins and read each product label VERY thoroughly, I am afraid the dreaded parabens lurk everywhere
