How was it LTEC?

I've looked at it again and think I'd have neck issues. Looks far too low cut for me. The one thing I like about winter is being able to wear polo necks everyday. My sister is jealous of my neck but I love having clothing up to my face .

I need a brown / caramel dress though....

traceybath · 17/12/2009 19:57

That dress looks so lovely.

I so wish it was available in my size. Altough as my bank keep randomly stopping my debit card as they think there's a fraud being committed - nope - thats just me doing my online shopping .

I also liked the hush one and have gone on waiting list so fingers crossed. Would be perfect for xmas day

LukaSweetBabyJesus · 17/12/2009 20:05

So glad it was just as lovely in reality. I love it

LetThemEatCake · 17/12/2009 21:08

good news, lady of the nork!!

was absolutely fine on large-norked friend. She's keeping it.

And I've reordered it in grey and brown. Although will (ahem, cough, mumble) send one back.

which leads to me ask - deadbody - why? why the faint? Surely £70 is not considered exorbitant for a dress I'll wear at least x2 a week throughout this interminable winter??

Tracey, what colour would you get? hope you can get the Hush one for Xmas, a friend of mine (another recent mum & bf'er) just ordered it for the same purpose.

What do you think to the purple dress with grey opaques and grey slouchy suede boots and grey Travelwrap, plus pink wristwarmers and hat?

At the Horniman again today - thought of you tatty and mm

Is it snowing with you LTEC? It's beautiful here.

NotanOtter · 17/12/2009 21:12

i want it
how does it come up - i am 5 foot 8 9 stone 8 should i try 10 or 12 please??

tattycoram · 17/12/2009 21:14

Hey! I love the Horniman. Snowing here, wonder if it will settle overnight.

LetThemEatCake · 17/12/2009 21:16

bucketloads mm. Pretty!!

Otter - go for the 10. I am the 12 and I'm 5'10", had a baby 3 months ago so am closer to 11 stone than the usual 10.

OP posts:
NotanOtter · 17/12/2009 21:42

thanks LTEC

not anticipating i will look good in it but it does look lovely

your wedding dress is a work of art!

LetThemEatCake · 17/12/2009 21:50

my love, if you are 5'8" and 9.5 stone you will look heavenly in it - you'll look the way I wish I did!!!

what colour?

thank you re: wedding dress. I still love it. Those flowers are hand painted so it really is a work of art!!

OP posts:
NotanOtter · 17/12/2009 21:54

wow re the dress - you can tell!

i am blonde so i am thinking grey

mrsshackleton · 18/12/2009 12:21

Oh ARSE

Now I want it. I have got to stop this internet shopping!

Have ordered purple. Am like notanotter, blonde, five foot seven, 9 1/2 stone. Am really hoping it does nothing for me and goes straight back [aaagh, stop spending money emoticon]

I WILL send back the Boden flowery shift I got from the sale, which looks surprisingly great (though unflattering on stomach) but realistically I will never wear.

hellsbelles · 18/12/2009 15:02

oh love this one. I ordered a very similar one that cost a bomb and sent it back as I was sure something existed somewhere at a better price....and here it is. Thank you!

LetThemEatCake · 18/12/2009 18:42

Oh bugger feck and arse

The grey and the brown arrived today. Both gorgeous.

Argh!! What to do?????!!!

OP posts:
RipMacWinkle · 18/12/2009 18:50

Keep them both of course. If these are truly the holy grail bf dresses then I would. You could ebay later?

I'm looking for the same thing but at 5 feet nothing 8/8.5 stones (haven't dared weigh myself since had dd 3 weeks ago) I think it would be too big all over.

dexter73 · 18/12/2009 19:16

Just ask yourself if you really need three identical dresses. Keep one and send the other back as you will get sick of them if you have three. Buy something else instead (a new pair of Uggs maybe )!!

LetThemEatCake · 18/12/2009 21:13

You're right dexter.. Keeping the brown and the purple. When I tried them on, the grey wasn't great against my complexion, not warming at all. It's a very blue-grey, ladies, take note!

And I do take your point about denim. But gym wear as out-wear is even worse, IMO, as Uggs!!

dexter73 · 18/12/2009 21:46

No Juicy couture velour tracksuit for you!

Pannacotta · 19/12/2009 15:29

Gorgeous dress but hand wash only, which is a bit of a no-no in this slatterns household!
Have any of you dared to wash it in the machine?

LetThemEatCake · 19/12/2009 15:46

I always wash my 'handwash' items on the delicate or handwash cycle of the washing machine ... or sling 'em off to the drycleaner.

Haven't worn the dress yet, am saving it up for my birthday on Tuesday so I'll let you know how it fares in the wash.

OP posts:
Pannacotta · 19/12/2009 16:36

Thanks TTEC, am very tempted...

LetThemEatCake · 19/12/2009 21:18

I always put cashmere etc in a pillowcase to wash it too, if that helps. No disasters yet!

What colour do you fancy?

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 23/12/2009 09:42

Waiting patiently here for the brown dress to arrive (no purple in my size!)....which shoes/boots/tights do you think would go?

LetThemEatCake · 23/12/2009 22:01

am planning on wearing my brown one with teal tights, brown boots and the fabby teal chunky handknitted scarf my gf (gorgeous friend) gave me today :-)
Will also wear with pink ... have also got some heathery purple stuff that will work

Wore the purple dress out to lunch at Jamie's Italian yesterday with grey opaques and grey suede flat boots .. had my charcoal cashmere wrap for when i needed to breastfeed the bub

Anyone else got theirs yet? Happy?

OP posts:
Pannacotta · 23/12/2009 22:22

I like the purple one, think that colour looks v flattering.
Do post back after it has been through the wash THEC.
Also wondering if it will be reduced, if ASOS has a January sale...
