WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:19

CybilServant · 16/12/2009 19:19

evening AF, upset anyone today so far??

pagwatch · 16/12/2009 19:19

are they good as in very fast runners. Or good as in CSI Miami finding you later.

Just curious

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 16/12/2009 19:20

pray tell!

or are you one of the tk maxx detectives yourself ?

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:20

no they detect and prosecute

debenhams and matalan too
dont take your frozen goods bags in there
or oddly HUGE suitacases were the trend for a while in matalan - as if they were hiding it. assitants didnt seem to think it was odd

oh and buggies very pop too

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:21

and dont nick prime cuts of meat from marks - very popular but lots of police in there last time i went in.

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:23

and..here is a random fact marks have NO IDEA how much money is in the tills overnight

Tizzyjacko · 16/12/2009 19:24

This should be on the thread about things MN has taught me. I'll pass it on to my DCs

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 16/12/2009 19:24

yes, cybil hugely

pagwatch · 16/12/2009 19:24

why would anyone nick from Matalan. You could spend all morning in there and come out with three tonnes of rayon with a street value of £2.50

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:24

so there you are.
what else can i intrigue you with abotu shoplifting....

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:25

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 16/12/2009 19:25

lol @ pag

that is sooooo true

dexter73 · 16/12/2009 19:27

In our local newpaper they have a round-up of all the local prosecutions and it is things like stealing werthers originals from co-op, stealing gin from corner shop etc. We have no exciting crimes like nicking ham from marks!

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:29

no aberdeen angus steak
its small things as its often addicts and they can only have a caution once for each tuype of offence.
I heard of thefft of a fruit and nut once

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 19:29

cyb woudl come on msn to ask abotu afs upsetting BUT i cant find the icon!!

dexter73 · 16/12/2009 19:31

The other cases are usually scary looking women assaulting other scary looking women!

hohoholepew · 16/12/2009 19:32

My DD got her head stuck in the railings in TK Maxx, they had to dismantle it to free her. I told them she was my neighbours child, while tutting about her taking so long in the changing rooms.

EdgarAleNPie · 16/12/2009 20:12

actually, if you refuse to go with the store detective they are very limited in what they can do to stop you.

i expect Marks lift every till when they reach £200 as standard practice.

the thing to really rob is supermarket petrol station, because they rarely have working tubes, security or more than two people on - so take their pods (generally over £200)at the end of shift. on a busy saturday you could come away minted....

but then shoplifting is a fools game. drug dealing is where its at.

almay292 · 16/12/2009 23:21

Isn't stealing from TKMaxx like hoisting from Primark - i.e. you'd have to be a desperado junkie to bother? My Tip: if you're going to bother taking the risk best to go for a small, posh shop where they may not tag the stock and the staff will be easily intimidated.

Anyway, I thought all high street shops prosecuted these days more or less? Possibly not if you're ancient and/or quietly batty. Or the police advise going down the caution route rather than bothering with court.

Loads of shops go in for civil recovery these days especially if the tealeaf is not one of the usual suspects.
