I've fallen in love with Anthropologie

I was shopping in London yesterday and decided to visit the store - having previously drooled over the website.

OMG. There wasn't a single thing in there that I didn't like. 3 levels of absolute gorgeousness. If you are shopping near Regent Street, it is definitely worth a visit

I was very well behaved though. Just bought a gift for a friend. I send DH a text message saying "go in and buy ANYTHING!!" Cue very happy DH who now feels relaxed about going into a store about which I had written on my christmas list "any item of gorgeousness from Anthropologie"

Oh wow, the skirts aren't deffo their strongest point...

CristinaTheAstonishing · 15/12/2009 21:41

MOTIF&isSubcategory=true&isProduct=true&isBigImage=&templateType= nor their jackets or it seems their links, they take up half a page!

WillieWalsh · 15/12/2009 22:02

its VERY peruna imo

tattycoram · 15/12/2009 22:04

I love the lay out of the shop and the homeware but went twice and was over it really. I think the clothes are pretty fiddly and very expensive - there were a few really beautiful things when I went but ££££££

tattycoram · 15/12/2009 22:05

layout

AitchTwoToTangOh · 16/12/2009 01:20

hhahaaaha at very peruna. oh yes it is.

choosyfloosy · 16/12/2009 01:43

Giftable sweaters all horrible. Sweaters to keep v nice. What's that about?

All a touch 'standing with one foot in front of the other' for me, but no doubt it is sour grapes as any store whose sizes are 's m l xl' will have nothing that goes past my knees.

dexter73 · 16/12/2009 07:53

Some of it is quite nice but this certainly wouldn't look out of place at Per Una!

purplepeony · 16/12/2009 08:30

Their prices are ridiculous.
Some interesting items, but most are OTT in the flouncy/fussy dept.

Home stuff is more twee than Laura Ashley.

BonjourIvressedeNoel · 16/12/2009 18:21

I really really love it and its just about affordable in the US. i spent nearly a whole day trying on stuff in there when I went to Boston.

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 18:23

Oh that shop is a LARK. I had the nicest time in there - there's even a living wall, with ferns and plants and things. AND a chandelier made out of buttons.

I was v. happy.

I didn't buy anything, but I poked about and loved the tables and expensive boho look, and tried on lots of lovely clothes, and then walked out empty handed but utterly pleased.

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 18:26

And on their website I once found

Birdwatching Pants - ideal present for a cousin

Come on. That's something, birdwatching pants for a cousin!

JaneiteQuiteRight · 16/12/2009 18:29

I love that nightie dress. I love loads of it actually - but it is too expensive.

Check out this blog if you like Anthro for a lovely girl who puts some of the cutest little outfits together. I love her!

JaneiteQuiteRight · 16/12/2009 18:30

Apologies - was overcome with love there to the extent that all other adjectives and verbs failed me.

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 18:33

I love is very suitable for Anthropologie though. I loved it in there, I loved all the people in there wearing berets. I loved everything. I told the shop assistant this, she nodded.

WillieWalsh · 16/12/2009 18:59

ponce

CybilServant · 16/12/2009 19:01

CybilServant · 16/12/2009 19:01

£50

overmydeadbody · 16/12/2009 19:05

When I die and go to heaven heaven will be this shop.

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 19:09

Oh god yes, is UTTER ponce heaven

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 19:11

Is like thrift shopping for the rich

I looked at v. flimsy dress with red beading, to be worn with vast heavy cardigan. And beret.

CybilServant · 16/12/2009 19:12

do tey have the home stuff there?

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 19:14

Yes, downstairs.

I spent ages smiling at bowls

CybilServant · 16/12/2009 19:16

I may take dd there on saturday...she loves a poncey shop too

ahundredtimes · 16/12/2009 19:21

Good idea. Still think Libertys delivers too. I ponced in there on Monday too. I like those stupidly expensive lamps and mirrors wrapped in fabric they have
