Sorry to copy cat the tall birds, but I really need some jeans...

Next.

And I have a sharp pair of scissors and a sewing machine

SleightiesChick · 14/12/2009 14:43

I get mine turned up now as I am too short even for petite length most places. It's annoying but can be the best way to get stuff that actually fits.

mistletoeandjuan · 14/12/2009 14:47

But I find turning them up changes the cut & then they don't look as good (maybe that's just my legs!)

Next petite are fairly short as are topshop petite.

RainRainGoAway · 14/12/2009 14:48

Me too.
Even petite are too long.
Next aren't too bad are they, but they can be a bit...mumsy.

I get mine from next but I am square shape,I have no hips so the hipsters are usually kneesters.

thedollshouse · 14/12/2009 14:52

NEXT. Although I agree they are a bit dull. When I was young and had more cash I used to get Tommy petite or Diesel jeans from the childrens range, age 12 fitted perfectly when I was a small size 8. Those were the days!

alarkaspree · 14/12/2009 14:52

I don't think turning them up alters the cut. It's just that you try on a pair of jeans, they come down to 5 inches past your feet and make your legs look really long and delicious. Then you take them up and your legs are back to being their ordinary short-arsed selves.

Anyway, Gap also do short jeans, they call them ankle-length for some reason.

FakePlasticChristmasTrees · 14/12/2009 15:03

Gap or Topshop - have had some nice ones from Next.

MarioandLuigi · 14/12/2009 15:11

I buy mine from Next or Topshop, though I still normally have to have them taken up another inch or so.

ILikeLentils · 14/12/2009 20:03

I'm 5'2 1/2" so should be just the right height for petite trousers but I still find some very long ones. And my legs are the "right" length for my height.

I have just got my first pair from tesco for £8 and the length is perfect. I realise they are probably not the most ethical and they are unlikely to last long but they fit well .

I bought some cords from fat face which are far too long. Not tried their jeans.

Some M&S are OK. Some not. But then you have to try on so many to find the right fit it's annoying.

Like the tip about ankle length ones from Gap. Thanks.

RockBird · 14/12/2009 20:04

New Look because they have 28" legs. Unfortunately I am that annoying combination of a short bird and a fat bird and all the shops assume that if you're fat you're also 6ft tall. I wish!
