Following on from spookycharlotte's thread, could you help me as well please? I am around 5'6, thin, (size 8/10ish) no bust to speak of. Would like a nice outfit for Christmas day - don't mind dress/skirt and top/trousers. Would like to start feeling stylish and attractive agin (seemed to have slipped into jeans and jumper mode for too long), but also needs to be comfortable, warm, washable, and suitable for playing around on the floor with DS (15 months) in.

Budget - £50 - £100?

Please please help

Ooooooh

Excellent. Let's do some hunting.

Colours? What do you tend to wear? What colours do you like (but don't necessarily normally wear in day to day life)?

It's quite a wide brief but you're the same shape as me (bit slimmer ) so it will be good fun to hunt for you!

cleanandclothed · 12/12/2009 22:16

I like strong dark colours, red, brown, dark purple, dark green/turquoise, that sort of thing.

Too plain? with tights and a long-sleeve top under? (is handwash though)

Hang on, will post this and keep searching. I'll adopt a scattergun approach until I get a better idea of what you do/don't like.

NorkilyChallenged · 12/12/2009 22:55

Too casual? again with long sleeves under and nice tights/leggings depending on your preference.

I keep recommending this though the back might make it hard to wear something under for warmth? Lovely colours though

Sadly the purple seems to be gone, but they have red

NorkilyChallenged · 12/12/2009 22:58

Oh, was there anything you particularly liked on spookycharlotte's thread? Or anything else you've seen linked recently?

Will have to go to bed but will be back later and am sure others will have good suggestions.

NorkilyChallenged · 12/12/2009 23:03

Definitely need to go to bed, just posted on the wrong thread...

Purple and good price

Or this with a different belt?

Getting anywhere near?

cleanandclothed · 13/12/2009 15:56

Ooh thanks. I love the Phase Eight one, and the purple DP one. The others look a little scarily fashionable-- cold for me!

Will go and have a look at both of those tomorrow. Also like the black longsleeved dress on the same Phase Eight page, but that was dry clean only and I know it will get dribbled on within 5 mins

I got a lovely jumper dress from H&M, really simple but flattering. 3/4 sleeves, mid thigh but could wear it with leggings, very comfortable and not too expensive bit like this but scoop neck

cleanandclothed · 14/12/2009 18:55

Thanks so much for the Phase Eight tip. I went their today and founds loads I liked, whereas normally I just look in the window and avoid on the basis it is too expensive and a bit to 'wedding/black tie'. I ended up buying this but also liked this. They didn't have the red dress pointed out by Norkily but I could have bought loads so may go back after Christmas!

Ooooh that dress is gorgeous - buy it!

NorkilyChallenged · 14/12/2009 19:02

I LOVE that spot dress. Please buy it as it wouldn't suit me at all.

Really pleased you found something

I know what you mean, I've always dismissed Phase Eight but have been noticing quite a lot of nice things in there and the money off just now makes it worth a look.

NorkilyChallenged · 14/12/2009 19:07

Oh you could always get the red knitted dress online if you like it!

Smart jumper tunic/dress?

I have this and love it. Agree with reviews about the studs though.
