Do they basically do the same thing? Can't seem to find out what protect and perfect actually does!!

Haven't tried P&P but I do rate Clinique Turnaround Concentrate which you put under a moisturiser. Makes your skin feel lovely and soft. It's not cheap, though a little goes a long way.

I use P&P and it makes my skin feel really smooth and soft. I really like it and usually buy it when it is on 3 for 2 so it works out quite reasonable. I have got this from the website:

No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum: Proven to restore skin?s structure and appearance. Independently proven to restore the skin?s structure, visibly improving deep lines and wrinkles by up to 50% with regular use. The first product proven to restore the skin's structure with prolonged use. So effective that other people can see a significant visible improvement in your deep lines and wrinkles

Thanks you two. so that is one vote for each. I have used Clinique turnaround before and love it but wondered whether there was a cheaper alternative.

Would Santa consider bringing you some?

If not, I'd try which ever has the best deal!

Protect and Perfect. Or Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair.

badietbuddy · 08/12/2009 18:45

Boots do a Time Delay Night Serum which is about 6 quid at the moment. The ingredients are identical to the Protect and Perfect. The Boots sales woman I spoke to about it said they are discontinuing the cheaper one . Worth getting a bottle of that if you can.

MadameCastafiore · 08/12/2009 18:54

Estee Lauder every time here - the stuff is of miracles - I am 35 and no one believes it!! (Have yet to start dressing like a 35 year old so that may have something to do with it though!) Oh and it lasts for ages!!

I remember being told by someone in the cosmetics industry that Clinique is fine when you have young skin that needs astringents but shite as you get older!!!

purplepeony · 08/12/2009 18:59

I've used P&P quite a bit- moved onto the stronger sort. It's okay- makes your skin quite "dewy" but not sure about line reduction. My problem is not lines but more general sagging coming to my face! I did try it on the fine lines at the corners of my eyes and it made my skin sore.

Clinique Turnaround- never used though do use Clinique make up and moisturiser- currently using Youth Surge.
I had a sample of Turnaround facepack which was nice- like a scrub but chemicals evidently.

chocolatespiders · 08/12/2009 19:05

Madame- which products do you use?

purplepeony · 08/12/2009 19:48

I think it all depends what you want the cream tod o.

If you want to get rid of lines then P&P is probably as good as anything. You need Retinol derivatives to get rid of lines.

I have read very bad reviews/research of EL night repair- said it did nowt.

If you need a better skin tone, then Clinique do one which erases brown spots and refines texture.

If you want more definition and less sagging like me, then it's the knife or fillers like Restylane TBH.

MadameCastafiore · 08/12/2009 22:48

Resiliance Lift Extreme daily and just the night serum at night without a night cream as I find these too heavy and I use Re-nutriv eye cream - is expensive but a little goes a long way and a pot can last for months!

shopalot · 08/12/2009 22:55

Thank you all so much, don't really need the line thing as 33 and not too liney yet. I have quite a lot of scaring from old spots on my cheeks and generally my skin could be improved. So maybe protect and perfect not for me. Turnaround or EL night repair sound good.

hi i've used the boots p&p not the intense one and the clinique one, prefer the clinique one but if money is tight i use the boots one, just finished a bottle last night, it doesn't last me long i use it day and night. I have dark marks left behind from spots, they take ages to fade, the clinique lady suggested i tried their serum in the white tube i forget the name but i didn't think it made a difference the turnaround was much better, faster results. She also drummed it into me i must use a high spf otherwise the faded bits will come back, shes right even a little bit of sun will bring out the dark bits. She also sold me a new foundation called even better skin, not used it enough to say whether i will buy again. I also had a sample of the estee lauder serum and didn't think it was anything special to buy the full size, but then i guess you would need to use it for a few weeks to notice anything, it does get good reviews in all the mags, although i don't always agree with what they say so not sure how much to trust them....

Another vote for Advanced Night Repair, all I know who use it in their 40s look more than 10 years younger.
