Quick, going out in an hour & a half - blue tights, brown shoes?

Help!

A new dress is getting its first outing (had a thread about it a while ago, from Asos).

Have got blue (teal-ish - called cobalt) tights to go with it (the model on Asos was wearing them and black looks wrong.

Will brown shoes with a heel be ok?

The dress is kind of orange with blue trims (nice, I promise, universal thumbs up on here).

jamaisjedors · 05/12/2009 16:50

Ok found link to dress and now having a panic, her tights are much more navy and I think mine are too bright.

Hang on.

I actually think cobalt tights would be better. Navy seems to clash with the colour of the trim in the photo.

shoes

Goes to wash hair and put rollers in!

i think they would look quite nice with it

Feelingoptimistic · 05/12/2009 17:17

I agree with ilovejonty - the model's navy tights don't really do with the dress - yours will look better, and the shoes will look good with it.

OK great, glad to have some positive thoughts, otherwise would have had a total re-think and gone for jeans + top again.

Hope no-one laughs

read thread title and thought quietly to myself OMG but having opened your links it looks great - have a nice night out!

Will report on comments (probably only raised eyebrows from DH!).

Am doing a test-run at cm's daughter's 18th so hopefully blue tights will not be too out of place...

Want to wear it to work "do" next week.

I think brown and blue goes quite nicely together lol

Quick update : realised belatedly when putting on the dress that it has a brown lining which presumably the manufacturers think go with the dress.

So I think shoes were ok.

I think the tights were a bit bright, I felt self-conscious and got a few looks at me legs (not sure whether in a good way).

The only other person wearing bright tights there was the 18 yr old birthday girl - in bright pink ones with a black dress.

Most other people were in black so I felt a bit awkward but I have sworn to move away from the black since hitting 35 (this week) so at least I stuck to my resolution!

Thanks all.
