How do you 'introduce' new clothes to DH so he doesn't notice they are new (and expensive)?

I've had another little shopping spree at the Mulberry factory outlet shop - not bags this time...
I got a silk shift dress for Christmas (drool), a fabulous knitted dress, peplum jacket, Julie Verhoeven wool scarf, plus a silk shawl. I'm longing to wear them but DH will kill me. I used my own money but I know he'll say I've got too much as he's meaner more responsible then me.

Mrs SB, I don't think you are delusional about spending more etc. I buy lots of things from H&M, Zara and Top Shop. However, these things generally get replaced every year. The things which hang in my wardrobe for seasons/years on end are mostly more expensive items (eg MaxMara, Mulberry, Marc Jacobs etc and then from "high end high street" such as Toast, Jigsaw).

You have always struck me as somebody who enjoys the experience of good quality rather than "oh I paid this much for it therefore it must be good". Also that you appreciate the idea of an enduring label (thinking back to the "shall I buy a Chanel bag type posts of yesteryear ).

my dh is an enabler, so I'm not much use in this conversation.

However, he may now change his ways ... he's fairly adamant that we're stopping at 3 children and also fairly certain that my Louboutins were responsible for dc3

I often say that I've got a charity shop bargain - but that only works if you often visit charity shops... doesn't sound like you do

Yes still working on the Chanel bag! I could probably have half bought it by now were it not for my forays to Shhepton Mallet. I am so in love with the Mulberry shift dress. When I got home and (naturally) tried it on again, DS said 'Mummy you're a lady'! (The boy has taste!)
