rubyslippers · 30/11/2009 17:32

it is not a good shape

great stuff at monsoon

Amandoh · 30/11/2009 17:43

This one from Debenhams is a similar shape.

If green is your thing then this Karen Millen dress is pretty.

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 17:45

it's a good shape for covering my fat arse

there are some lovely things on the monsoon site rubyslippers thanks

noooo miss woo woo that tis fugly

sometimes being out of stock is God's way of smiling on you

cornsilkwearscorsets · 30/11/2009 17:47

It is A-line. Nuff said.

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 17:47

debenhams! never think of them. love the dress but it's waaaaaaaaaay too short for my thunder thighs. Need something that is pref knee length and not too tight

Reiss has some lovely dresses in. There was a £30 discount voucher for coast knocking around last week.

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 17:49

are we dissing A-lines here? they are my favourite!

I think when you are a size 16 and almost 39 Aline is a very flattering shape .... no?

OP posts:
cornsilkwearscorsets · 30/11/2009 17:50

nooooooo

Ronaldinhio · 30/11/2009 17:52

never sure about a-lines if I'm honest
i don't think I've ever seen one i like except perhaps the more rockabilly teadress type affaires

honestly I think that dress is a fright...sorry
I am wearing brogues though so feel free to take the piss out of my man shoes

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 17:52

ladies please! surely you are all joking about A-lines being a no no??

c'mon! if no A-line what on earth would I wear in the skirt department? seriously you do not want to see me in a pencil skirt

OP posts:
cornsilkwearscorsets · 30/11/2009 17:57

A -line is acceptable so long as it's not too A-line. I blame Boden.

Amandoh · 30/11/2009 18:02

Tunic style might be a good shape on you MissWooWoo.
Wallis have quite a few tunic style dresses in.

carriedababi · 30/11/2009 18:07

oh la la, i heart that karen millen green dress.
i might have to buy that.

thanks amandoh

Juillet · 30/11/2009 18:10

I like the OP's dress.

sadly am not an 8 either...

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 18:22

am keen to get a dress as this is for my mum's 60th (which will also be my birthday).

but would wear tunic if they didn't all come up mid thigh on me - am 5ft 7ish. There are some lovely ones about and infact do have some but always wear with trousers (and don't really want to wear trousers at mum's big bash)

juillet hurrah! it is nice isn't it?

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 21:40

some nice frocks there girls but nothing grabbing me. Am now wondering if a monsoon type tunic with some bold coloured tights might be the way to go? I'm sure my legs really aren't as bad as I make out

OP posts:
Ronaldinhio · 30/11/2009 21:56

5ft7 size 16...your legs are fine for tights and a tunic

MissWooWoo · 30/11/2009 22:04

hey thanks ronaldinhio ... I'm sure I won't give a shit once I've had a few sherrys (and I'll be having a fair few)
