pandora bracelets?

my mil wants to buy dd a pandora bracelet - I've had a look on their site and don't like them much .. but dd's 7 so might appeal - there weren't any prices - is it an appropriate gift for a 7 year old? will I be doing dd out of an heirloom if I suggest something else?

I like mine though there are much more childish charm bracelets around for children. The actual charms are in my opinion quite tasteful so perhaps a 7 year old would prefer chunky animal type charms.

Also quite an expensive gift for someone so young, maybe easily lost.

What about from here? A cheaper alternative and are just as nice. Got my mum a bracelet and loads of beads for £35 for her b/day earlier in the year.

lovelinks petite may be a better choice. (It looks huge in this link, but they are really quite dainty!)

Lovelinks are the same idea as Pandora, but as the name suggests, they do a smaller version ('petite'), much better suited to younger wrists. She could start her off with a couple of cute animal charms - they are about £12-15 each, and add to it each birthday/xmas.

I walked past a pandora shop today and the queue was about 25 people deep. They must be doing something right!

I like them. They can look lovely with the right beads

Pandora beads come in ahuge range so bound to be plenty suitable for a 7 year old. the only issue i would have is the value as even with one or two beads it will be about £100.

I have a pandora bracelet myself, but i also have a troll bead bracelet which i think is better quality and nicer weight/feel to it. Trollbeads are around the same price so worth looking into?

Also how about something personalised? Carrie at www.twobluebutterflies.co.uk makes some stunning named items in sterling silver. I have loads of her bracelets, especially the swarvoski pearl ones with a charm on. I also brought some as gifts last christmas and the 8 year old girl i gave one to loved it.

£100!!! god that's a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a 7 year old's christmas present

that lovelinks petite link looks a better bet, thanks, mil is in Australia so Oz based companies better than UK as well

right, off to deal with mil

Good luck! Try and dissuade her from a Pandora for a 7 year old - I think it will just be too heavy for her wrist.

I think Pandora jewellery is a little too much for a seven year old girl. It is also a little too expensive. Pandora bracelets are used for keepsakes and memories and this is reflected by the range of charms they supply. For example graduation charms. This site hasa good range of beads and charms www.johngreeddesign.co.uk looking at this you will see that they are not really suitable for a 7 year old.

I love looking at that John Greed site. have seen it before. Plenty of ideas for your bracelet. I was quite surprised to see how nice the bracelet looks with only 3 or 4 beads. No need to fill it up at all, iykwim.
