Have maternity party dress, but need shoes. Are these the Ones?

I cannot with my muddled preg brain make up my mind whether these are visions of loveliness or vile?

I was hoping to wear them for posh work's night out with chiffony mat tent dress and then get some longer term wear out of them with jeans and stuff.

Please judge away, oh MN style goddesses!
Thanks

You're brave! I'm normally a complete slave to heels, but there's no way I could manage those at 6m pregnant (and I slipped and fell on Mon, so it's flats from here onwards ).

yama · 28/11/2009 22:39

I love them. Heel not too high but very sexy.

PacificDogwood · 28/11/2009 22:40

Yes, fair point, though I was planning on carefully making my way from car to venue and then sitting pretty for the rest of the evening !
It is mainly sit-down dinner with a bit of mingeling beforehand.

So practicalities aside, you like or loathe?
Brutal honesty, please, they are not cheap, I cannot afford expensive fashion disaster..

Ah, thanks, yama! 1:nil for.

Dress is recycled from DB's wedding so I figure I deserve new shoes, at least

Well, it would seem that all Style Goddesses have a life are out on this lovely Saturday night.

Off to bed, but I will pester you again tomorrow. Need to hit the shops before next weekend.

Oh I like. Absolutely fine for being escorted to table and sitting prettily in - with occasional flash of foot/ shoe for good measure .

Sorry for being so practical - I just got spooked by wearing anything with heels this week.

stressheaderic · 29/11/2009 16:20

I love them. Colour, style, heel, everything about them - get em bought. Def be good with dressy jeans post-preg.

I am 7 months pg and have just been trying on potential outfits for Christmas Do - at home though, not buying new, and cannot face changing rooms and their harsh lighting that shows up all my veins.

I'm going with a black one-shoulder mini dress (collar bones have yet to get fat and still look moderately sexy), shiny black opaques (they are actually stockings as tights cripple me at the mo but NO-ONE present will need to know that), gold killer platform heels and a gold wraparound sequinny thing to cover up whilst eating meal.

Staying at a hotel so figure I can nip up and get my slippers ballet pumps if feet swell up, but don't intend on doing much dancing really, especially after zero glasses of wine!

Petsville · 29/11/2009 17:06

I love those - definitely get them!

PacificDogwood · 29/11/2009 17:22

Oh, thanks all.

salty, sorry I ingored your tumble. Hope you and your bump are ok. Balance is just not the same just now, is it?? I was obsessing about those shoes last night.
I do own sensible black/jewelled kitten-healed pregnancy-going-out shoes, but this is NO4 and I "need" something different.

I am going shoulder-free as well, brown gathered chiffon, kind of Grecian stylee, I suppose, with blackberry/purpley accents and shrug.

I really did not like the recent trend for 6in tart platform stilettos, I thought they were really ugly, made even drop-dead gorgeous models look ugly, and will probably not have much more fashionable life in them. I am hoping these ones will be wearable a bit longer, or am I deluded?

Shameless bump for the evening crowd!

PD - no need to apologise. But yes - balance is not the same - Shrek would have more gracefulness than me at the moment!

Your outfit sounds fab
