I use dermalogica and have done for years but I want to change to a different product and hopefully a cheaper one.

My skin is normal type but I get blackheads on my chin. And I have millier (not sure how to spell it).

I need a light moisturiser, nothing thinck or greasy...

Any suggstions?

if you are really stuck for cash I think that e45 plus a face cloth and face wash is hard to beat...all purchased for under £10

I used to use Dermalogica too. I now use Simple products. Their moisturising lotion is lovely and light. I also have a tendency towards blackheads on my chin and the Simple face mask is fabulous. My skin feels very clean and de-gunked after using it. I use it once or twice a week (usually twice during pms week ). Also use their face wash and facial scrub.

French products like Vichy and Avene are excellent and really good value. Boots online have started selling them. Much cheapter than Dermalogica.

Another Simple fan here. I use their rich moisturising lotion which is really quite light and only costs about £3 or £4 and lasts ages. I use Tesco facial cleansing wipes (27p a packet!! - how cheap is that!) too. You don't have to spend a lot on good skincare - a lot of it is overpriced crap stuff.

tulpe - did you use the moisturiers for normal skin? Thats the one I used and fell it is the right type for my skin.

I could def do with a face scrub I think, have not been using one for ages...

Simple, or Oil of Olay, the basic beauty fluid one, for sensitive skin. The non-sensitive one is quite heavely perfumed, but that one isn't.

Cheappinkfizz · 25/11/2009 22:25

Another vote for Simple products here. I use their moisturising cleansing wash and their makeup wipes, can't beat them. Haven't got into their moisturisers yet as I normally use Olay regenerist which if you want it cheap you can get it on ebay

waitingforbetterdays - the dermalogica stuff was for normal skin and I have found the Simple range for normal skin is just as effective. The Simple moisturiser never seems to leave any residue on the surface - just sinks straight in and makes a great make up base.

I use the facial wash every day, twice a day and the scrub I use twice a week. It's great to attack the blackheads on the chin and those tucked into the side of your nose

I don't use make-up wipes. They make me break out in vile spots (incredibly painful but don't actually develop a head on them...urgh).

teamedward - I have not tried the oil clensing method. But I have heard others mention it on here. Is it for all skin types? I thought it might be for dry skin? And would you use your normal moisturiser with it?

Oil cleansing is fabbo and you can adapt the oil blend to your skin-type, and Aldi do brilliant anti-aging moisturisers for under three quid which are amazingly well-reviewed in blind trials.

I think Nivea products are the best. Joan Collins apparently swears by them!! (Not sure if that's exactly a recommendation...). Top tip is also to never use night cream - best to leave the skin to do its own regenerating work. Heavy creams prevent this. Also stops your skin getting so soft in the night that any creases take all day to puff out!
