Party dress for 11 year old - urgent help needed!!

My 11 year old daughter is going to an end of term party/disco and I have promised to get her a new outfit. The problem is that neither of us really know what is fashionable at the moment and, for a variety of reasons, it is important that she looks the part.

Does any one have any ideas about what sort of thing we could get and which are good shops to look in? She is quite short for her age, reasonably slim and quite undevelopped, if you see what I mean! I don't want to spend a fortune, either!!

Try Asda, my dh loves a long top with sparklies and leggings.

They had some lovely stuff in there today, check their website.

Something with sequins? Is she in adult sizes? Peacocks online is cheap and asos.

Online or in a shop?

They have quite a lot of party stuff in H&M. My two are younger so I didn't pay proper attention to the older girl clothes but certainly sparkly party stuff in the younger bit and never too pricey.

I think we will get it in a shop as it will be more fun. I could look online, though. She is definitely not in adult sizes yet - more like age about 9 which makes it tricky as the designs are younger!

Def worth a trip to H&M then and see if they have anything she likes

My DD aged 11 loves www.newlook.co.uk/teens/store.aspx

I got my DD (11) a lovely trendy sequined dress in M&S childresn range. T-shirt style dress that looks fab on. Bright pink and black - sorry I'm rubbish with links!

asda george have got some absolutely gorgeous midnight-blue sequinned skirts - so nice that I actually wished my dd was big enough to wear one... very rarely that this happens! that with a black top and a little shrug would look really nice, trendy but not too old looking.

this stuff is lovely too I saw it in RL yesterday, it's really nice and sparkly!

Wow! Thanks everyone. There is some lovely stuff around and I can see some of it suiting her down to the ground. I'm really looking forward to taking her shopping on Saturday!

Had a great days shopping and managed to get a brill dress from Debenhams. All time favourite was indeed in H&M but they didn't have the right size. Thanks again!
