Dressing Gowns that make you look all right

I could do with a new dressing gown as I got my current one for going into hospital to have dd1 (over 13 years ago).

I only wear it after baths and showers and I hardly ever wear it downstairs except on Christmas morning sometimes.

Where would you look for a lightweight, almost attractive dressing gown?

the kimono one is lovely

What you need is loungewear.

snurk at Grimma

I treat my dressing gown badly. It is in a scrumpled heap on the bathroom floor when I shower, then in a scumpled heap in teh bedroom for a while. I hardly ever wash it.

I couldn't cope with silk or cashmere.

GrimmaTheNome · 25/11/2009 17:52

here are lots of JApanese kimonos and happi coats

WouldYouCouldYouWithAGoat · 25/11/2009 18:08

grimma - the childs ninja outfit tucked away in the middle of the kimonos is sinister!

pointydogg · 25/11/2009 18:21

happi coats - sleeves too wide. What a palaver they would be.

The camel-toed sock-shoes are interesting

Sorry, bit of a tangent but seriously, wtf?? A hundred big ones for a pair of old lady jeans?

pointydogg · 25/11/2009 22:21

What have a flump and a pair of jeans got to do with dressing gowns?

Laurie I have the humungous Next one too! The hood could act as a papoose for a chubby toddler couldn't it. MIL bought mine for me I think as a sort-of contraceptive so I didn't produce any more weird grandchildren.
I have a lovely thin fleecy thing from Matalan, it has a zip and comes to just below the knee. It also has pockets to carry one's chocolate in.
