oooh oooh ooh this one

i love it. It is on the other hand the kind thing Mr Poo describes as an overfrump.

what do you lovely S& B ladies and gents make of it ?

Gap has two gorgeous purple cardis: a merino asymmetric one (longer at the front), with a hood and no buttons (am wearing the charcoal version as we speak and it is divine, so light and so flattering). £49 IIRC

OR a purple, cloud=soft cashmere long wrap one, fastened with two buttons. Approx £100.

And there's a 30 per cent off voucher floating round at the moment, so you could pick up either for a most reasonable price.

.think the Gap one is a bit lacking in shape also (their cut is generally way too straight bodied for me) - the fat face one doesn't look very warm...

maybe i did reach 60 and not notice?

or perhaps this one from Oxbow

is a trifle more jeune - though it's lined with a fluffy soft linig that might tickle a bit...and has no pockets.

i really am beginning to sound like my mum with that thought aren't i??

heartofgold · 24/11/2009 19:46

shorter but funkier, also peacocks

heartofgold · 24/11/2009 19:47

dotty ps

EdgarAllenPoo · 24/11/2009 19:55

the primark one has shorter sleeves...need to keep my coldy little hands warm.

although indeed very similar and vastly cheaper.

good work ladies.

(i did say and gets, but they don't seem to visit these parts so much)

The Planet one is 70% acrylic and 30% wool, seems like it is very overpriced for that.

triffictits · 24/11/2009 21:17

love the colour but hate the cardi

Sexonlegs · 24/11/2009 21:21

Oh dear Agree the colour is lovely, but it looks shapeless, and old fashioned and the buttons make it look cheap. Sorry!

EdgarAllenPoo · 25/11/2009 18:27

how about this

overfrumping perfection?

long sleeves, doesn't go that far over my bum (which really doesn't need covering with bulky material) and a good purple, with shape to boot. whilst still looking cosy

The love of purple is a wonderful thing and is to be encouraged. The travesty that is this cardigan is not. Step away from the cardigan

Curiousmama · 25/11/2009 18:30

MaggieBell I really did laugh out loud at the bridge statement

Are you rich OP?

Curiousmama · 25/11/2009 18:33

Fenn Wright one is lovely.

PoppyIsApain · 25/11/2009 18:35

I dont think it is awful but it is a bit overpriced. Love the colour

EdgarAllenPoo · 25/11/2009 20:50

i am indeed not rich. however if i spend half my life on ebay (and i'm not saying i don't) i can generally get things a few months after they are in the shops at a greatly reduced price....i'm thinking january will be a good time for unwanted chrimbo pressies too.

also, i enjoy having want-items. I think it is far better to desire a really wonderful item i can't afford than a slightly naff one i can't buy either....(though you have exposed the naffness of my lust-object - 70% acrylic! Planet, how you mock me!!)

also, I really love shopping, and isn't a good S & B thread just like being a Trinny or Susannah but without feeling the need to grab people's boobs?

'windows shopping' rocks.
