they look very comfy and warm and soft and lovely.

Are they smart enough for wearing to work in an office and appart from Jeans what do they go with

Tempted to Ask DH for some for Christmas, esp. as Amazon have some fab deals on EMUs at the mo.

depends on your work.what the normal attire is.mine no

Ronaldinhio · 24/11/2009 22:03

they are fugly fugly fugly and I'd seriously consider sacking someone for wearing then into work unless there was snow on the ground

Ronaldinhio · 24/11/2009 22:05

shit a stick

you have got to be kidding half crocs half uggs

ugggghhh that's the shoe equivalent to the bastard child of ann widdecombe and andrew lloyd webber

toddlerama · 24/11/2009 22:39

Get British ones. I have these

Mine are a size too big though. They size up and don't do half sizes so I should have rounded down. But they were in the sale...
Still super comfy, but perhaps slightly clumpsy?

Hulababy · 24/11/2009 22:46

I love my Uggs as you know. They are the nly thing I have ever worn that are so comfortable and don't cause me problems with my feet and blisters, etc.

I wear mine with trousers and skirts, and I wear them both socially and for work at school.

They don't make your feet hot either I have discovered. Must be the skeepskin.

I do wear mine in the rain. They have been sprayed with the waterproof thing. Even in very heavy rain my feet have never got wet and the boots seem to dry out pretty quick on the outside too.

I have just ordered DD a pair of Emu Brontes - they are wool, not sheepskin, but she won't be wearing them as often as I do and doesn't have my feet issues, lol! I will waterproof them though.

Ronaldinhio · 24/11/2009 22:54

seriously toddlerama those are truly horrible

i'm sure you are lovely but they are boots only a yeti mother could love

ScottishMummy · 24/11/2009 22:56

bet they look nice with an anorak, dog on a rope, and a fag.

sorry they are ghastly flat footed furry monstrosities.

stickylittlefingers · 25/11/2009 09:51

my physio was telling me how she wanted to ban all Uggs, she reckons it does terrible things to people's gait and posture. Especially children.

After that I watched some of the girls walking around town in them (dear me I sound like a perv! It was in the interests of science...) and certainly some people were doing some pretty odd strides to keep them on their feet, I guess - sort of turning their legs out rickets style. Attractive...

They do also look really odd to me! I wouldn't wear them to work, but then I wouldn't wear them to anything - perhaps a sheep scaring competition? (I go to a lot of them )

ladytophamhat · 25/11/2009 09:55

I wear these - ethically farmed, handmade local to where the farm is, and no nasty treatment of sheep (some horror stories out there about how australian sheep are treated).

And they're cheaper than uggs!

SueW · 25/11/2009 10:05

I'm a Celtic wearer for reasons mentioned earlier but I do prefer the lining on the Ugg Australia boots (DD has some I got for her in the US).

I swore I'd never have any but I caved last Christmas and they are great for cold weather - I wear mine with leggings and a sweater dress. No need for socks.

I can wear them for work but I can wear casual for work (although sometimes I dress up just for the fun of it)

FimboFortunaFeet · 25/11/2009 14:33

LTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello

bluebump · 25/11/2009 14:47

I have Emus and I wear them to work, I saw one senior manager clock them and give a disapproving look but i've not been told not to wear them yet!

upahill · 25/11/2009 14:47

Katz, Back to your post. Only you will know your office's dress code.

It is perfectly normal to go to my office and find people in rippped jeans, shorts and tights, Uggs etc. Anything goes except formal. However I wouldn't expect to see my solicitor or the like wearing them. Not that I would care it's just diferent conventions.

ladytophamhat · 25/11/2009 15:58

Fimbo i thin you may be confusing me with another ladytophamhatt? I had to namechange very quickly and we were watching thomas at the time and LTH was allowed as a nickname.

Of course if you are someone i know and I just can't remember then I'm sorry! I've been here for about 4 years.

FimboFortunaFeet · 25/11/2009 17:27

Ah, it may be a different spelling, she doesn't come here anymore .

FimboFortunaFeet · 25/11/2009 17:30

The other LTH has two t's on the end.

Hulababy · 25/11/2009 21:17

DD's Emu boots have arrived and tey look great. Need to waterproof them. They do look huge though, so best check them on her feet first!

Katz · 25/11/2009 21:21

John Lewis have them apparently so going to pop down at lunch time either tomorrow or friday and try some on, see if my mega calves will fit in them.

Hope your DD like hers and they fit, DD1's boots still not here but rang to check and there ready for dispatch though, so hopefully tomorrow.

thanks to everyone for their replies, i'm thinking i'll stick to my Clarks leather boots for work and the EMU's for leisure, unless it snows and then i reacon they'll be for everywhere!
