getting back to shape

In particular, getting my tummy back!

It's now been 6 months since I delivered our son and my tummy has got back pretty much to normal, shy of 3 inches (but they make all the difference).

Not so worried about that as I am about the condition of my tummy. It looks wrinkly esp when I bend forward.

Is it possible to get back my firm tummy. If so, how? No suggestions on surgeries please.

I reckon NOT eating between meals, cutting back on sugary stuff, and exercise should do the trick.

Also, tummys are meant to wrinkle a bit when leaning forward. Don;t forget you are clothed most of the time!

The skin will go back some more, but it will probobley always be wrinkly when you lean forward/are sitting. But don't worry about it, I did pilates and although I have a flat tummy, it is well toned, and firm when standing etc, the skin appearance will never be the same (for me). I have accepted this, and I can honestly say it does not bother me in the slightest. The pilates has given me a better shape than I ever had before having children, so now I enjoy my hourglass-ness

On the same theme, is it possible to get rid of bingo wings? I know that arm muscles can be toned, but what about the loose flappy skin (YUK). Is it surgery or cardies?

By the way, huge respect to those who have got their tums under control. I have not been able to do a single sit up for 15 years!

I'm with Jewels. it is possible to have a well toned flat tummy but the skin will probably always be a little bit loose when you bend over etc. Although mine was acceptably flat after dd it was more rounded than before, although probably only I noticed....I just look around at all the muffin tops and young girls with squidgy tummys hanging out of their too-skinny jeans and feel instantly better given that most of them haven't been pregnant .

best exercises for me for toning is crunches on swiss ball and the plank but if you are carrying extra weight you won't see toned muscle under the fat. I did Abs and core work all the way through my first pregnancy and am doing them now 35 weeks in to 2nd preg - 3/4 planks etc - so hoping to minimise damage although i know it might not be an easy recovery a 2nd time!
