Laura Mercier Mineral foundation....

Wanted to give this a go but cant see where to buy it. All I can find is the US site.
Loads of people have posted about it on here so where are you all getting it from??
Preferably I'd like to go to a counter so I can get the shade right but failing that if anyone has advice on the shades I'd be v grateful - I'm fairly pale and anything even a bit too dark looks awful on me.

Thanking you.

I'd like that too. May visit the LM counter this weekend.

JeremyVile · 20/11/2009 20:30

Don;t big dept stores have laura Mercier?

cornsilkwearscorsets · 20/11/2009 20:31

Yes where are they the lazy feckers. They're all in bare essentials. Sooo last year.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 20/11/2009 20:32

I searched space NK and they didn't have it.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 20/11/2009 20:33

Actually that's bare essensuals or some wanky spelling like that.

JeremyVile · 20/11/2009 20:36

All the dept stores I've checked sell the mineral primer but not the mineral foundation, its odd.

Very odd. I want mineral foundation very much so that I never have to wash again.

JeremyVile · 20/11/2009 20:39

Me too.
Takes me too long to get ready in the morning and tbh washing is the only thing I'm willing to skip.

A world without washing.
Take that Mr Tweedie.

EldonAve · 20/11/2009 20:51

is this it?

cornsilkwearscorsets · 20/11/2009 20:55

I looked and couldn't find it! Well done Eldo Ave - there's a code for space NK on here.

JeremyVile · 20/11/2009 21:11

Yes thats it!
I looked on spacenk last night too but couldn't see it. Thank you EldonAve

I am pleased because I also found that Liberty sell the tinted moisturiser in porcelain which SpaNK don't

cornsilkwearscorsets · 20/11/2009 21:25

I am a nude gal myself.

jumblequeen · 20/11/2009 22:45

What a great thread! Was just thinking the same thing... thanks Eldon.

On a shading note, nude makes me look like jordan but porcelain makes me look like wednesday adams... would I be bonkers to buy both and do some kind of mix?? Advice please.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 21/11/2009 08:01

I read once that Nigella did just that!

EldonAve · 21/11/2009 10:03

Mixing works okay - I would just mix a little for each application

I use the Nude in the summer

jumblequeen · 21/11/2009 12:37

Eldon - I think you've got the right idea. I'm a definite porcelain in the winter and nude in the summer () and somewhere in between at the moment...

cornsilkwearscorsets · 22/11/2009 13:32

I ordered some but they don't show the shades very clearly on the site. Hope it's okay.

JeremyVile · 23/11/2009 18:42

I ordered some too - I went for Real Sand, have no idea if it'll be ok but looked on the LM US site and the colours were a bit clearer.
Am hopeful. Poor but hopeful.

I use Lily Lolo mineral makeup here. They send you little testers that cost penies - the blusher one I used for a good month and it cost 50p. Lily lolo came out in a Marie Clare review as the best mineral make up too!

cornsilkwearscorsets · 23/11/2009 22:50

Didn't think to look on US site. I went for tender rose. I've read good things about that Lily lolo - might send off for a tester.

penona · 23/11/2009 23:00

I bought some of this in the US earlier this year. Am using the Real Sand which is a good colour if used v v sparingly and worked properly into the skin. Tis much better with a decent brush (ie LM expensive one, sigh). I usually use Nude in the tinted moisturiser in the summer, find it a little dark in the winter. If I am a bit more heavy handed with the mineral powder it looks darker so am hoping will do for the summer.
Do you also have the mineral primer? I found that helps too.
And no, sadly I don't work for LM. I just LOVE her make-up. (And got a 'mineral starter kit' with loads of stuff v cheap in the USA).

They do have it at the LM counters, but not generally in the SpaceNK shops.

JeremyVile · 23/11/2009 23:32

I ordered the primer too (and the finishing powder and the blush and 4 brushes (there's more but I might be a bit sick in my mouth if I list it all). Mixture of SpaceNK and john lewis.
Eeek am a bit worried now about the shade - what is your skin colouring like penona?
