I am going to Eurodisney in a few weeks . What kind of clothes do I need to take for me and dd? Just jeans and jumpers kind of thing I assume.

TIA

Flat shoes and waterproofs that fold up and go in your bag, there's not much cover if it rains.

Jeans & jumpers are fine, it is very dressed down, no French chic-ness in evidence.

Thermal vest.
Hat.
Scarf.
Gloves.
Boots.
Warm waterproof coat.
Mickey Mouse ears optional.

sleepysox · 18/11/2009 22:00

I always bring a padded travel baby's changing mat with me to sit on while i wait for the parades. Ooh and warm socks- my feet always get really cold.
Layering is the key to warmth. I usually wear a thermal vest!! Long sleeved top, fleece and then a rainmac if it's wet. When I went one Christmas I also wore thermal leggings underneath my jeans, and I was so pleased I did. It was freezing. It's the waiting around for parades/ characters where you get cold.

HTH

serinBrightside · 18/11/2009 22:19

Jeans will stay wet all day if you get caught in the rain, casual trousers would be better.

monkeysmama · 18/11/2009 22:50

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I don't think I have any casual trousers that aren't skinny jeans. I may have to go shopping.

You will of course buy a pink fleece with Tinkerbell on the back if you don't pack enough warm tops/jumpers. You have been warned

monkeysmama · 19/11/2009 14:29

Don't make it worse MMM! I am already dreading it! I will be buying up thermals this weekend.

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 19/11/2009 14:38

tis freezing and you will be outdoors all day
ski socks under trousers very sensible

iirc there is an Aigle factory outlet at Marne-le-Vallee down the road if you are in sudden need of performance outerwear that doesn't have Tinkerbell on

Bonsoir · 19/11/2009 14:46

WARM clothes. We went last year for DD's 4th birthday (9 November) and it was already freezing - many degrees colder than central Paris.

And, as other posters have said, it is seriously unglamorous. Don't worry about being beautiful.

bunjies · 19/11/2009 15:01

We're also off to Eurodisney in January so this is very useful. I hate being cold so will take loads of layers and thermals.

That's excellent news about the Aigle factory outlet. I could do with a new waterproof coat and I find their stuff very good quality.

monkeysmama · 19/11/2009 15:07

I'll take dd's ski suit then -hadn't thought it would be that cold. Glad to know I don't need to worry about being warm and beautiful! Thanks again.

We took thermals last weekend, and didn't use them. Even in the evening the temp was in double figures, and in the daytime I just wore a tshirt and fleece. However if you DON'T take them, you can guarantee you'll need them!

Definitely take waterproofs though.

SixtyFootDoll · 19/11/2009 15:16

DEf ski wear it is freezing there in winter and you will be outdoors all day long

Poohbearsmom · 19/11/2009 15:25

Disney is Very casual and gr8 fun paris is shockingly cold in winter and im irish so am used to being cold and wet...

monkeysmama · 19/11/2009 20:31

Am glad I asked or I'd be taking the wring things. Though I now have images of Disney having it's own freak weather system!

As you've all replied-what do you do all day at Disney?I know I sound mad but I've never been anywhere like it & as we're going with smother big family I'd like to be mentally prepared. Dp suggested something about shows? The hotel includes food I think. In general is the food ok? I am not a killjoy I swear.

Thank you!
MM

We stayed in santa fe & were full board. The breakfast in our hotel was gr8, all u can eat continental style buffet. Lunch n the park you can choose from fast food or buffet or table services, i thought the food in the village was better esp liked Annettes diner which had waiters/esses on roller skates and was old style american diner type but had 'real food' on the kiddy menu too. We also went to the Rainforest cafe which is quite exp but a really well themed one, our little ones were a bit scared of it tho cause they hav thunder storm effects every so often and animals coming outa the walls & ceilings... There are so many diff places to choose from its making the decision which one to pick which used to drive me demented... As for what do ya do all day!! Well its such fun, ya cant help but hav a laugh & where ye go & what ye do really is depending on the age group... My boys were jus 3 and 17months. Ur dh is right about the shows we say disney club house & it was brill my boys loved it so much

monkeysmama · 20/11/2009 12:19

Thanks PBM - I think we're staying in the Newport Bay but can't really understand from the volumes of paperwork the friends who booked it have sent me!

We stayed there last week, its a lovely hotel!

monkeysmama · 20/11/2009 12:40

Thanks MaryBS - what's the food like?

OP posts:
MaryBS · 20/11/2009 12:44

Another good all you could eat buffet for breakfast. They have an evening all you can eat buffet too, but we ate in the other, waitress service restaurant, as we weren't that hungry. The food there was lovely, but very expensive - have you got food included? We spent 82 euros on 2 main courses, 2 kids set menus and a large bottle of water!

monkeysmama · 20/11/2009 13:08

I think we have one meal a day included and choose if that's dinner or lunch. It's all a bit vague!

OP posts:
paranormalghostygoat · 20/11/2009 13:25

We stayed there for Halloween and it's fab. Eat from Buffets as much as possible and layer up in clothes. The French all look fab and will be in knee high, high heeled boots and smoking. Everyone else will be dressed for the weather in warm clothes. We took ponchos to wear whilst waiting for parades etc so that it didn't get too cold and in case of rain.

What ever you do make use of the Magic hours and do Buzz Lightyear, Dumbo, Tea Cups, Small world before 9.30am and then after 7pm it quieten offs quite a bit.

Have Fun it's brilliant

paranormalghostygoat · 20/11/2009 13:26

Oh everything is costs a lot we had a meal in Annettes Diner - 2 burges, cheese on toast, pasta and ice cream x 4 with soft drinks and it was nearly 99 Euros!!!!!

Go half board and try the buffets, they have a huge selection.

Poohbearsmom · 20/11/2009 16:30

Newport looks fantastic! Fill up at breakfast bring some bits away with ye for snacks, Make a few cheese or ham rolls, fill da babies bottles with the free juices etc and keep your meal vouchers for a really nice dinner... We didnt have to cause we had all our meals included but so many ppl did cause as u hear its really really exp to eat there & the drinks are 3.50 for a can or bottle of water! Although you can get 6 2litre bottles for about a fiver from the petrol station at the top of the santa fe road, but once you enter disney all prices sky rocket... That being said its a brilliant holiday i cant wait to go again
