Argggh, help my achy breaky hair

Hello, not sure if this is a post for here or for health, but my hair has recently started breaking. I have all these snapped short bits and so my hair looks much less thick, and the shower and hair brush are full of them. Can't run my hands through my hair without them all coming out.
I have highlighted, shoulder length hair which I mostly tie back and probably blow dry no more than twice a week. I don't use straighteners or back comb and try to use a wide toothed comb when it's wet. I've been pregnant or breastfeeding for the last six years, but my last is now 15 months and has been breastfed for the last six months.
Anyway, has anyone got any miracle product/vitamin supplement/home remedy suggestions for once strong and glossy now frazzled and fuzzy hair.
thank you so much
Pol

I think it will get better if you're not having any more kids. I always find a large amount of 'Auzzie 3 minute miracle' and then rinsing with cold water helps.
IO have seen hair supplements in the health food shop, but perhaps you could just do with an all round vitamin?
Will Young was talking about 'Propecia' pills that have halted his hair loss in the Saturday Guardian, but I have no idea what they are!

Of course, my post should have read that the last child hasn't been breastfed for last six months.
Hmm me and will young, I never thought we had anything in common. It's not hair loss, I think, but hair breakage. Not sure it makes much difference in way that hair looks but will make a difference next time my whole family gets nits.
Maybe will try some of these hair supplements. That aussie stuff is great, isn't it? Maybe I'll leave it on overnight. Thanks for tips,
Pol

hi make sure you look at your diet to see if you are eating enough omega oils - nuts, seeds, oily fish, avocado. and have a hair cut to get rid of split ends as you can't repair them now. there are some overnight oils that are meant to be good, if a bit expensive - kerastase

Go and have a good trim to get rid of the slit ends and then invest in the vitamin supplements etc

I went through a period of this recently. My healthy thick hair just seemed to go thinner and start breaking all the time. Got really worried about alopecia etc!Anyway I just paid more attention to my hair using good products. DO NOT use any Aussie products they are full of silicone - so your hair looks better initially as effectively coated with plastic, but is not helping at all and hard to wash out. I have been using Aveda stuff or in Waitrose they sell some good organic shampoos and conditioners that are not full of chemicals and plastic. Also have a good chunk cut off ends to neaten it up and makes it feel thicker.
Whilst I feel all these things have helped my hair I think really it was just going through a natural phase of thinning/shedding as it does go in cycles.
Good luck.

I do hope you're all right that it's just a natural cycle/all the pregnancies. It's made me realise how awful it must be for men when they lose their hair.
Will go get a good chunk of hair cut off and put on the aveda conditioner stuff that I've got and leave it on overnight. And get snacking on that avocado, salmon, nuts etc etc.
