No, no, no, no, no. They are frumpy.

NorkilyChallenged · 13/11/2009 13:42

Oh dear oh dear.

In the last 30 seconds I have discovered that I am middle-aged (other thread) and frumpy (quite like these shoes)

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 13/11/2009 14:27

I suppose I am a bit frumpy

I just like Comfortable Shoues and have never managed to find any that didn't look like this.

HELP!

Norkily -

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2009 14:55

no.

why not just get a ballet pump type thing? why do you need that awful clunky heel? Answer: you DON'T

Rhubarb · 13/11/2009 14:58

Last ones are the mingers of the shoe world.

First choice is ok, not great for winter though.

Invest in a pair of Docs.

HellBent · 13/11/2009 15:00

I would have worn these for work, but I did also wear a black polo shirt and that is not a good look!
Have a look for some nice ballet pumps.

NorkilyChallenged · 13/11/2009 15:24

Ballet pumps hurt my middle aged bunion feet

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 13/11/2009 15:25

I'd love to be able to wear ballet pumps, but on of my feet is quite a lot bigger than the other [circus freak emoticon] so if one fits, the other falls off.

I do have docs - have had them since I was 18 and still going strong. looking for something for work really...

NorkilyChallenged · 13/11/2009 15:29

Pricey but similar to original ones you posted but nicer (in my middle-aged frumpy clodhopper-footed opinion)

brimfull · 13/11/2009 15:30

They are school/wrk uniform type shoes.
Lots of nurses wear them.

NorkilyChallenged · 13/11/2009 15:31

Can you do mules? I can't any more but had these about 4 years ago and they are very comfy (though a bit leaky in the rain sadly)

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 13/11/2009 15:44

Sadly no, not very good with mules either.

Hmm..

All of you who think I have awful taste in shoes - suggest me up please

They all look fine to me. I don't understand people saying that foot-shaped-shoes are ugly.

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 13/11/2009 17:43

come on then, if my choice in shoes is so awful, find me some nice ones that won't kill my feet.

OP posts:
hotCheeseBURNS · 13/11/2009 17:48

I don't think that attractive, comfortable, low heeled shoes exist. Wear boots.

IMoveTheStarsForNoOne · 13/11/2009 20:29

I don't want to wear boots.
~stamps feet~

I do have a pair of black boots with a small heel, they're fine. I want some flat shoes that aren't ballet pumps.

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2009 21:52

one of my friends has these - they look much nicer on than in the pic. She too has problem feet (slightly misshapen due to arthritis, I believe) and says that these are hugely comfy.

I think it helps that they are lovely colours too, rather than black. Black is only good on a sexy shoe

mrsjuan · 13/11/2009 21:58

I normally get comfy work shoes from Clarks but have just had a look on their website & can't see anything that stands out at the moment.

purplepeony · 13/11/2009 21:59

They look like orthopaedic shoes. sorry.

mathanxiety · 14/11/2009 04:09

How about these?. Don't know about availability in the UK though, maybe on e-bay. Very comfy and well made. Gabor shoes are also very nice for different widths and style preferences.

thumbwitch · 14/11/2009 05:07

OP your first choice look like childrens' shoes imo - I loathe that particular style, however.

There are some nice ones on mathanxiety's link. Comfort shoes are rarely that stylish tbh, but hush puppy like to think they are.
