Jimmy Choo for H&M, will you be there?

Jimmy Choo are doing a collaboration with H&M next week, I think I need to be there to get a new bag. Will you be there?
Bet I won't be popular with DS's pram!

I'm not bothering with shoes, they'll be far too high for me, I don't do heels very well.

The rubbishy H&M website says it's in 200 of their stores. All the big city ones I guess.
I can't even view the collection on my laptop, the site is one of those "flash" type fancy affairs.

A pram - are you serious?

I won't be there as the thought of having to queue up in the cold, then negotiate the pushing and elbowing of hundreds of women does nothing for me. I find H&M a nightmare at the best of times.

The collection will no doubt sell out and be hailed a success, but I'm a bit on the overall effect on the Jimmy Choo brand. What next Louboutin @Tesco?

I wouldn't be going if I was in London, I don't fancy the fight in Oxford St but I'm in Manchester so I'll give it a go.
I'm a bit sceptical too but I could never afford a Jimmy Choo in Harvey Nicks so H&M it will be.
Anya Hindmarch did a collection for Target in the US so maybe I'll keep an eye on the Tesco website...

Have previously worked in branding so was using my professional hat, not my consumer one. FWIW I think the quality will be good but whether you are in Manchester or London the queue will be hellish.

Can you imagine the re-selling on EBay!

I totally agree Choogirl - but think Jimmy Choo is not quite as prestigious as it once was.

Having seen photos of the range in grazia its not really my cup of tea.

Now the stell mccartney stuff for kids is a different matter - totally gorgeous.

I was really tempted but, having looked at the collection online, there is nothing that would really warrant battling the crowds. Some great shoes that I would be happy to buy if I came across them but I am not lining up and dealing with (other) crazed shoppers for them!

I'd rather have 'pure' Jimmy Choo than this watered-down high street stuff. I don't like all of this collaborative malarkey. There's designer, and then there's high street and never the twain should meet except for when YOU put it together in a stylish and 'eclectic' way. Not just because they are making mega-££ out of it.

No, but then I'm not that bothered by Jimmy Choo shoes in any case. Prefer other stuff like Chloé shoes.

Always heard so much about all these collaborations, but the thought of the crowds puts me off. And actually, in general they don't do anything for me.

They said on GMTV (I wasn't really paying attention) that there would be wrist bands given out for the first 200 women and they would be given 10 minutes to choose one pair of shoes. Sounds like a grim shopping experience but I think some people like being treated like cattle.

If I am ever lucky enough to own a pair of Jimmy Choos then I would like the proper ones.

But Jimmy Choo, the brand, makes no bones about what it is- a high end, luxury accessories brand. And H&M exists as a cheap-and-cheerful, mass produced high street brand.

Collaborations of this nature try to fool people into believing that H&M is suddenly "luxe" and desirable, and that Jimmy Choo is suddenly "accessible". "you too can own a piece of the Choo dream!!" I just don't like it!!

I've never looked at a pair of Jimmys, are they better than for example, Kurt Gieger? Do they justify the cost?
