HELP - Work Xmas Party for a generously neigh, truth be told, fat lady

Ok, I know we've got ages to go, but I also know that it'll take me forever to find something I feel comfortable wearing. Works do - will be pretty posh and it's a James Bond/cocktail dress themed evening. Which is great, unless you're a size 26ish (on a good day) who hasn't work heels since forever.

I've seen some of the fab threads for the fatter person this evening and wondered if anyone could come up with any suggestions (twinsetandpearls seems like a genius). Anything would be gratefully considered.

Thanks in advance...

I want those Iron Fist shoes. Correction, I NEED those shoes! Been eyeing them online for awhile...

What's the sizing like SB? I'm really an 8 1/2 so if they're smallish then even with the open toe an 8 may be too cramped

& how much did they hurt? I'm nearly 6' & don't do heels very often...

Gorgeous outfit all round btw! Have you tried Demonia for shoes? They tend to be quite wide & very comfy (but go a size up for length) - wider selection than TUK, similar themes.

Ha, I knew I'd find someone who likes them as much as me!

I'd say go up a size, I got the six which was too small (usually a six) and dsd who's a five said they were just slightly too big for her.

I didn't have them on long enough for them to hurt, but they felt pretty comfy whilst I was wobbling and trying to sqeeze my hobbit feet in.

Don't know where your based, but there's a shop in Southampton which stocks them if you want to try before you buy, although there's no hassle to return to Viva La Diva.

Thanks for the Demonia tip, off to peruse -and- -batter- -my- -switch- -card-

Just to let you know that I got Angry Pixie's dress and went with the tartan TUK shoes - and even managed to wear them for over six hours. World record for me and I would heartily recommend them to anyone who is useless in heels and 'curvy' .

Got loads of compliments and the Gok shapewear worked a treat - many questions along the lines of "wow have you lost weight?".

Thanks again - you guys are stars!

I'm so so pleased SB.
Someone on here gave me a link to an absolutely perfect dress for my 40th b'day party (pic on profile I think) so I am delighted that I was able to return the favour.

The dress is amazing, I'm glad you loved wearing it.
Merry Christmas!
