I am 18 weeks pregnant with 2nd baby and a friend of a friend is doing beauty therapy and wants to practice her eyelash extensions and pedicures..i am keen to try the former but my friend(who has no kids)was under the impression i cant even have a pedi when i'm knocked up..i'm sure the therapist herself will be a bit more clued up about things but wondered if anyone had any advice..can i try to detract from my big puffy face with some luscious lashes or should i wear sackcloth and ashes for the rest of my pregnancy and stop pretending glamour is an option in pregnancythanks folks..

Of course you can have a pedicure! Lucky you being offered. I'd go for eyelash extensions as well, would love to try them!

No, dont go for the eyelash extensions. Ive had them done twice and although they look great they buggar your real eyelashes up. Mine have been threadbare ever since. Much better to buy the stick on ones from superdrug.

my friend has eyelash extensions and they are great. She loves them.

Of course you can have a pedicure. Just not in first trimester iirc.

Kittya, really sorry to hear they damaged your lashes...not sure how they would make your lashes threadbare though?

The lash is glued onto your own eyelash and then the whole lot falls off naturally after 2 weeks. The lifecycle of a lash is only 2/3 weeks. You then have infills, ie more glued onto your new lash growth.

It will not affect your new lash growth in the least.

I've had them for over a year, I go every 2 weeks and they are totally fabulous, would never not have them now!
