and you were a tall-ish blond was-size-10 but now very pregnant 25-yr old about to have her second child, would you like this as a leaving present: hoodie
or would you prefer cash? She normally dresses in (I'm guessing) Miss Selfridge, Topshop, "Bench" - skinny jeans and long-ish tops with boots. I'm a short 43 yr-old - am I in the right ball park?

I go with cash or vouchers or shops that she likes. Hoodie is lovely though.

cocolepew · 28/10/2009 13:40

I'll

cocolepew · 28/10/2009 13:41

I'd

I've seen that in the shop and its gorgeous.

Use the code aut09 and you should get 20% off.

argento · 28/10/2009 13:45

Yes - I'm someone else's nanny and I think it's gorgeous.

monkeysmama · 28/10/2009 13:53

I think it is lovely but if her usual shops are the ones you suggest she could get a lot in each of them for that money.

That's really lovely! And she probably won't be treating herself for a while - cash will probably go on the baby. I'm someone's nanny and I like it when employers get me a more personal present than cash (although that was appreciated when I was a struggling student!).

florenceuk · 28/10/2009 14:00

thanks for the code! Although the consensus appears to be cash so far...

Sounds a bit silly but my lovely nanny (as in grandmother) used to give me money and a few clippings of things she thought were beautiful for me to spend it on.

I got a £30 voucher from mil for my birthday and though it wasn't for a shop I usually go to I really enjoyed my hour or so trying things on and shopping for something for me. Vouchers aren't always a cop out!

lupo · 29/10/2009 23:25

OHH Can I be your nanny please..what a lovely leaving pressie

monkeysmama · 30/10/2009 21:20

I thought about this again earlier when I got a lovely pressie through the post from my sister from Figleaves (I have a wonderful sister )

Underwear was one thing I really wanted after dd and thought was a real extravagance. Could be a nice voucher?
