I need a lovely evening dress, but from where?

I'm going to a very posh black tie do with dh and need a full on serious evening dress. It must be at least ankle length and not black and suit the curvy look. I'm a 12-14 and usually go for coast or monsoon but I can't really see anything I really like in the shops at the mo.

I quite fancy something with a slight fishtail effect in a blue or green. Where else can I look?

Is dr northener in a 'lovely class of jumble' (as my mother would say) area then? Sadly I am not.

I had a look in Debenhams but it was a bit meh, maybe I should have one made instead.

Thanks all.

I've 'designed' one on styleshake but the fabrics/ colours aren't very exciting - really good price though.

I went into Hobbs today and tried on a lovely one but they don't seem to cater for the short in the body, short in the leg laydee there as all the stuff was voluminous on me.

I really like that Planet Chyloe one, I'm going to try and find one near me so I can try it on.

I'm also going to try Debenhams as suggested and maybe have a poke around in TKMaxx too.

I don't want to spend more than about £200 and would be happy to spend a lot less! I've been looking on eBay too but nothing has caught my eye. The ball isn't until December so I've got a while so will keep at it.

It's a uniform do for the men so the ladies need to have a bit of oomph to stand out.

I still can't find anything I like though!
