As the glowing summer tan becomes a distant memory and the toll of early mornings and two demanding kiddies takes it toll have really noticed my face looks slightly grey, pale and very tired. Need an instant fix, you know the kind of thing you can do in two mins before facing the school run looking radiant. Can't really do foundation but have tried tinted moisturiser with limited success! Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Oh, oh,x-post. I take back my threat post. Thank you kindly you lovely person.

It does look pink, but when it's on your face it looks like magic.

Go to a Space NK and try it.

Slubberdegullion · 16/10/2009 20:51

WatstheStory is the Irish bint .

I enjoyed the oversharing fwiw.

haventsleptforayear · 16/10/2009 20:55

No Space Nk here. Will investigate on next trip to UK.

thanks

VerityBrulee · 16/10/2009 21:04

Actually I bought mine online without trying it after I read an atricle by the woman who started space nk, where she said if she had to choose one product from the shop that would be it. She said it was miraculous, at the time I was feeling rather grey, so I took a chance.

I'm really pale, and I always use the palest foundation in any range, so I took a guess that the no 1 shade would be right.

It might be worth ringing them up they could possibly advise you on the right shade.

Oil Cleansing method and fake tan.

I give myself a mini massage with oil in bed before I go to sleep every other night. On alternative nights I wash my face, pat dry and apply a thin layer of fake tan.

haventsleptforayear · 16/10/2009 21:08

Oh you are tempting me now...

BUT I have a virtually new bottle of Chanel Vitalumière that will last me another 6 mths !

btw oil cleansing is really drying out my skin

VerityBrulee · 16/10/2009 21:16

Well, the coverage would be more like a tinted moisturiser, so the Vitalumiere would be much thicker IME.

I use it alone as I reckon the flattering glow inducing properties will be covered up by a layer of foundation IYSWIM. But I've never tried it under foundation, maybe the result is even better!

Alibooobaandthe40phantoms · 16/10/2009 21:21

haventslept - use less castor oil if you have any in your mix, but also follow the oil cleansing with your normal night cream. That's what I do and it works brilliantly.

OP - Elizabeth Arden do an SPF 15 thing that has got light reflectors in it, can't remember the name off the top of my head. It is very good.

For me though, the key to looking good in the mornings is to have a proper pre-bed skin routine in place.

Origins exfoliator thingy - have forgotten what it's called and fgs don't get it in your eyes - but it is good for sloughing off the crap and revealing vaguely human-level skin underneath.

cornsilk · 16/10/2009 21:25

I want that light thing now.

Origins thing is called Modern Friction.

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/10/2009 21:29

Why do I click on these threads ? Costs me a feckin fortune

anneke1 · 16/10/2009 22:28

Well I thank you kindly for all the advice but agree with Tillyscoutmum it's going to cost a bloody fortune maybe I should be more dedicated to the beauty thing also and starve myself to afford these wonderful products. Is it a step too far to include the whole family in this cause after all surely they want a yummy mummy/wife !!! Off to bed for some of the cheap radiance booster but no douth dh will disturb that on return from pub.

Looked at that byterry stuff today - very nice.

May purchase it when feeling a little flusher.

navyeyelasH · 17/10/2009 17:09

ohh I'm liking the sound of the pink stuff - I just bought some.

Are eyelash tints really worth it?

don't worry about spending loads of money. the aspirin facial definitely brightens up the face. use a cheapy facial exfoliater. even if you are really scared of fake tan this is great. just spray it on every evening, no need to rub it in, takes the blue off. aldi's lacura version of touche eclat works extremely well, if a bit pale.

ZacharyQuack · 17/10/2009 22:21

Mac Prep and Prime, helps foundation/tinted moisturiser stay on without needing powder, gives a subtle glow to your skin and is nice on its own.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil, used after cleansing and before moisturiser/sunscreen. Moisturises and plumps up skin, makes it glow and feel lovely all day.

Benefit Erase Paster on shadows under eyes.

Nars Orgasm blush.

Another vote for By Terry from me.

This thread has reminded me that mine has run out. Must get myself to a Space NK.

Btw, I think I will make "boof ..you' av faive minutes non..?" my new motto. Will apply nicely to most things
