Boden's baby duffle coat

Hi

I am new around here but am a sometimes lurker! I know there have been threads about the Boden duffle although I think that they are for older children.

I have ordered and received the red duffle coat for my 12 month old. It is a thing of beauty but only in sweatshirt material. I was hoping for something more substantial as a winter coat (although I know some of the reviews refer to it being thin).

I am not sure whether to keep it. I looked in town today and saw that Zara and M&S had baby duffle coats but they were only grey and black. And I am in love with red ...

Does anyone know anywhere that sells proper duffles in red for babies? (As an aside, Debenhams did have an adults version but I thought that would be taking my obsession just a step too far

Thanks. Mumsnuttier - I looked in our Baby Gap too and they didn't have much.

GhoulsAreLoud - should have said, my lo is a boy ... not sure he would appreciate the hearts

nb be aware that thick fleecey duffles on 12mos can make them nigh on impossibel to get itno carseats - think Maggie Simpson in her snowsuit.

Thanks again. MrsBadger - I was wondering that. Also, if he's in the pram he will be in his footmuff so does it really matter ...? Can't - quite - bring - myself - to - send - it - back ....!!!

would echo what mrsbadger said (also have the boden duffle coat so I know its lovely ) - even a puffer jacket type waistcoat thing meant I was struggling to do up the pushchair straps today so dread to think what other jacket would do. Also know from bitter experience that the lack of mobility in dd's thick coat last year meant it only got used once due to the meltdown caused when I put it on her.

Here Not cheap (£34), but this is John Lewis and the quality is excellent. Was tempted, but too expensive for me

Its a red duffle coat, though!

Oh, its lined as well, so I would imagine it would be a little bulky, though I didn't think so in the store.

I have the boden duffle and am finding it great for this time of year. When it gets really cold though I'll be putting a different coat on him, but I'm hoping it will still fit for March time again.

The John Lewis one is lovely, and there are also red duffles in Next

our best winter coat when dd was 12-18m had a waterproof/windproof outer and a fleece inner but no padding, so it was warm without being too bulky. It had matching salopetty things too so together made they a snowsuit
from the now defunct Tchibo

this winter she is mostly wearing a trad red wool coat from Gap as similarly it's warm but not bulky and the mud brushes off well .
Have a ski jacket (Tchibo again) put away for when it gets really nasty though.

Love the John Lewis one too. Should I not be considering it for my son as it's for girls?

Charney, it didn't look very girly in the shop, you may be able to get away with it for a boy.

John Lewis are good with returns, just keep the reciept and the labels. Just to be sure though, I always ask at the till, but I've never had a problem returning stuff to them.

We've just got the red JoJo one for our little girl who's just 2. It's rally lovely and fantastic quality. I think I had a 10% off code and free delivery.

bdq - I'd initially ordered the size up for A (18-24) but was far too big and so got the 12-18 instead and it's perfect size on him

Ah, that's interesting allnew. The 12-18 was out of stock for ages (by which time he'll be into his heavier winter coat I think) so I've literally just ordered the 18 - 24 months. Will see what it's like - it stays cold for a loooooooooooong time up here, so it would probably do him in the Spring

yes that would be the benefit of getting a bigger size, will def do for spring. I got mine 2 months ago and have been wearing it on him for a while. It's really cute, you'll love it
